When I was in the Army, I talked to some senior management that was in UN Peacekeeper unit (Srebrenica is not a NATO operation by the way, it's a UN Peacekeeping mission, and UN Peacekeeping mission is notorious for Peacekeeper to use force.) He said you learn to say "I am sorry" a lot in local language, because there are almost nothing these peacekeeper can do if either side started to make a move, you literally are stuck in the middle and being the punching bag from both side.

While those killing a appalling, but realistically, what do you expect the Dutch to do? Stand up and be like the Belgium that was killed protecting the Prime Minister of Rwanda during the Rwanda genocide happens? If these Dutch troop resist, you are just going to add 300 names on that casualty, it would not have done anything else.

So at the bottom of the issue, is would you lay down your own life to people who you do not know? Sure, at your own home and without your head being fed in a platter, you will say whatever you want to say, but when you are one of those 250 Dutch soldier, what will you do? Will you lay down your own life to die with these people?

Well, not too many people have had faced this question in real life before, shame to say, I did in a similar situation (Which is one of the things I said I have done and not proud of many times before) , and I can tell you this, it's a different ball game when your own life is on the line.

Dutches conducted like cowards, lot of them were guilty concious later and but can not blaim them entirely, whole UN was corrupted, inept and full of clerks from irrelevant countries and troops on field were practicaly like shootimg pigeons with exeption of french and english contingent, they showed some teeth from time to time but Srebrenica was not their zone of responsibility.
From that time i remember Malaysian contingent in Sarajevo region and they were helpfull a lot in logistical and humanitarian role, all other UN troops did not remain in good memory for me.

They were fighting for their very lives, very few men left. Also they were told to give up their weapons after the Dutch troops had 'negotiated' that no one will be harmed.

Bro, you have very wrong ideas on this matter. If you want to know the truth, we have Bosnian members in the forum, you can ask them. Most of the most morally Muslims I have met in my life are Bosnians. Imagine a nation that did not give up its faith and history even at the cost of extinction. Bosnians may not be a big nation in the European demographic, but I can assure you they are one of the most spiritually strong nations as some other balkan muslims.

Nope I know loads and they are even more proud of their identity as Muslims.
In fact it was the other way round. When the war started many Bosnians were intisingueishable from their Serb and Croat counterparts, they were full integrated, married each other, drank and ate with one another etc.
There were incidents were Bosnians pleaded with the Serbs to stop the rape and murder at their hands, telling them they didn't really practice Islam much. The Serbs turned round and said to them yes but your grandparents were and you come from the seed....Many stayed in the villages thinking their neighbours they had lived with for centuries would save them or plead on their behalf. In many cases it was the men next door who came round with beaming smiles telling them to hand their daughters over.
In actual fact those who were firm on their faith saw the danger coming and managed to save themselves.
