People who have little or no idea about how this grand annual festival is conducted in Bengal and with inexhaustible zeal with "lets assasinate the Bengalis because BJP fails miserably in their state" only come up with such ludicrous and nonsense allegations. The article in Telegraph no where says that the immersion will be conducted on Navami. What it said was October 25th will be the date for immersion and will be continued till next afternoon.

Now, this has been a standard procedure for years, as the dates of Muharram almost coincides with Dashami, as it was last year and the immersion dates had to be readjusted. See, I am not a fan of Mamata Bannerjee but the baseless accusations that she is appeasing Muslims or Bengal is going to be next Bangladesh seem gibberish to me.

She has given 15% discount (compared to 10%) on electricity tariffs for Puja organizers which includes complete waiver of KMC tax and Rs.10,000 for pujas where women are in charge. Why I am not surprised that these news are not worthy discussing for the usual haters who know jack**** what they are talking about?

So Dashami is also not important for Durga immersion. Obviously gyarami and barami or terami are okay for Bong Durgas.

Rs. 10,000 seems to be the standard rate for the Hindus in WB. Even the villagers whose houses were burnt to ground in Canning got Rs. 10,000 as compensation for it.
