DRDO: Intercontinental ballistic missiles well within reach

Let me understand this.

The US has in the past tried to drag us into their side on international disputes, especially during the Cold War.

Having failed, it tried to vent its frustrations by supporting Pakistan's disastrous internal policies during Bangladesh, and tried to block Indian intervention.

When India tested its nuclear device, it choked off access to military technology.

None of these amounts to dirty backstabbing, exactly. More important, none of this would have been different if we had had a ballistic missile with a range covering the US.

So how would building a longer range IRBM, an ICBM, help?

You have an undeniable point.

I'm talking dirty backstabbing as what I think USA will do. As far as i remember they did forsake one very special ally once in a war where they badly needed help, but I won't elaborate 'coz I don't want a flame war.

All I'm saying is, India should not trust anyone, not even Russia. Hope for the bes, prepare for the worst.

We don't go backstabbing our allies unless they did something stupid.

Alright cool it. i didn't mean to insult USA or anything. Sorry if my post appeared that way. All i meant was, that India should be prepared to fight even with USA if the need arises, 'cause no one is trustworthy. I only mentioned USA, because they are the most distant country with enough capabilities to hurt India. Once again, didn't mean to insult USA, I'll edit my post right away.

Nope - you did go backstabbing US allies. It is clear from your post and @oldman1 is absolutely correct. And when he challenged you, you started the same old cut and run strategic manouvre.

Don't get carried away while asleep. This is not allowed in the forum rules and you should know it.

Please carry on.

One of my problems....I need to think twice about hitting the post button when half-asleep.:undecided:

Pak military's new job: Making iPad copies - The Times of India:lol::lol:

KAMRA: Inside a high-security air force complex that builds jet fighters and weapons systems, Pakistan's military is working on the latest addition to its sprawling commercial empire: a homegrown version of the iPad.

It's a venture that bundles together Pakistani engineering and Chinese hardware, and shines a light on the military's controversial foothold in the consumer market. Supporters say it will boost the economy as well as a troubled nation's self-esteem .

It all comes together at an air force base in Kamra in northern Pakistan, where avionics engineers - when they are not working on defense projects - assemble the PACPAD 1. "The original is the iPad, the copy is the PACPAD ," said Mohammad Imran , who stocks the product at his small computer and cell phone shop in a mall in Rawalpindi , a city not far from Kamra and the home of the Pakistani army.

The device runs on Android 2.3, an operating system made by Google and given away for free. At around $200, it's less than half the price of Apple or Samsung devices and cheaper than other lowend Chinese tablets on the market, with the bonus of a local , one-year guarantee.

The PAC in the name stands for the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex, where it is made. The PAC also makes an e-reader and small laptop.

Such endeavors are still at the pilot stage and represent just a sliver of the military's business portfolio, which encompasses massive land holdings , flour and sugar mills, hotels , travel agents, even a brand of breakfast cereal. The military is powerful, its businesses are rarely subject to civilian scrutiny, and it has staged three coups since Pakistan became a state in 1947. Many Pakistanis find its economic activities corrupting and say it should focus on entirely on defence.

As long they are making profit..... who cares? But such rant is expected from Indian media...

It was a straightforward news report, not much of a rant. In India, people are not used to seeing air bases being used for commercial manufacture. Well, not since the days of the late, unlamented Krishna Menon. Reading about such things gives us revealing insights into strange and different new cultures.

Did you find it untrue or unseemly?

You are missing the point. We couldn't do **** when some arabs tore down the twin towers. How many bloody years did it take to hunt that pest osama. Where were the nukes. Also remember that if and if the Agni v can be launched from a submarine then it can take out more than new York. If you blanket a country that size from end to end you have also killed yourself I.e radiation exposure etc. India is the least likely country to use a nuke. I mean three wars and multiple conflicts, they could have wiped Pak off the map but they would stuff themselves up too

Actually, Indian seeks global hegemony. But since their neighbors diss them, they do not bs too much at this point. however, once they develop something that can reach an inch of US territory, they would talk about replacing the US as the premier global power. Do not trust these techsupport Indians as they are power hungry and extremely racist

It's a sad way to learn that even faithful guys aren't indispensable.
