Donald Trump slams Pakistan for lies and deceit

  • The most optimal route was to ship supplies to Pakistan from where it is delivered to Afghanistan by land by one of two routes {(South Pakistan) Karachi to Kandahar via Chaman -1110 kilometers with the capacity of 75-100 containers per day. It takes 5-7 days in Pakistan and 12 days till Kandahar on this route OR (North Pakistan) Karachi to Kabul - vis Peshawar & the Khyber Pass -1948 kilometers long with the capacity of 100-125 containers per day. Cargos moving on this route take 6-9 days in Pakistan and 16 days till Kabul)}. In the present logistic system, cargo moving to Afghanistan through Pakistan falls into three distinct categories of cargo being handled by various carrying agencies. First category is Afghan Transit Trade Goods (Commercial Cargo which is commonly called as ATT Goods). It is being handled exclusively by Pakistan Railways and NLC (which was paid handsome and profited of it)

The second landward route is through the Central Asian countries -the Northern Distribution Network- established in 2009 - this is much more expensive than the Pakistan route. The NDN covers over 3,100 mile of seas, roads and rails of various countries like Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Latvia, Estonia and Russia. Via this network, supplies start their journey either in a Black Sea port in Georgia or the Baltic Sea port of Riga, Latvia or Estonia. On average, from the time an order is placed to the time of delivery, it takes on average about 75 days transit time from Germany to Afghanistan. The NDN provided 35% of US supplies in April 2010, 50% in April 2011, and 55%-65% in July-September 2011. Currently, around 75% of all the goods transported by land including 85% of the fuel was being transported via the NDN. The number of TEU / containers could be expanded to 500 per week, if needed and 24,000 TEUs per year could be transported while operating at the maximum capacity of the NDN, Till 2015 even Russia had been allowing the use of its territory/airspace to enable the flow of supplies to Afghanistan.with a halt of supplies for a year . and this number is expected to reach 95 % by 2018 completely reducing the dependence on Pakistani routes .

    get some brains first .
That is great news! Then the US wouldn't really need Pakistan's help. Shore up the Afghan border with Pakistan, get ANA to man the positions with backing from the US air power and ISR assets and there is a very good solution for any cross-border movement. What is the problem?

We paid with blood to clean up the open spaces inside of FATA, actually still are paying in blood due to x-border attacks from the other side, but we have denied the space to TTP for the most part. The same needs to be done on the Afghan side. Start posting the ANA and their elite commando units in the Pashtun dominated areas. Squeeze the space within Afghanistan and once there is no question of Taliban having autonomy in 30-45% of the Afghan countryside then this cross-border thing becomes a non-issue.

I like how this issue had United Americans accross party lines. Woke up to this news on Reddit and accross other major online portals. No mater what thier ideology people agreed mostly on what Trump said.
If only more Americans read the discussions on this forum they would realise most of the Pakistanis( at least this community which rerpesents sudo intellect Pakistanis) hate the way of our life here .
Even the Pakistanis expats while enjoying thier stay in West ,spew venom here about democracy or liberal attitudes and west in general. No matter what at the end most of you come out with a Muslim first attitude , while others hide behind " it's all conspiracy, we did nothing wrong".
While hosting and encouraging opportunistic Chinese troll posts bashing every news about US . None of you guys have any idea about how democratic way of life works . last year I was having positive impression about you bunch , but deep down you all hate the way we are.
I wonder whether the Americans were also united when Colin Powell showed pictures of the Iraqi "WMD sites" in the UNSC, just before the Iraqis got blessed to taste the "American way of life".

The thing is, Afghanistan is not your neighborhood. Its our's. And we have our interests which we will definitely defend at all cost. Its better for you guys to internalize this and leave this region ASAP. That would be the best outcome for all parties involved.

Every country apart from India is united to eventually remove the US from Afghanistan. Iran, Russia, China including Pakistan. We can have a thousand disagreements on so many things, but we stand united in this goal. Let these Americans act tough. Time is on our side. We will wait as long as necessary. Let the Americans waste their resources and fight a lost war.

Everyone is sick and tired of these hypocrites. All they do is blame and act like the victim.

America will never do that. We know why. Pakistan has pleaded to secure the border from both sides, but these hypocrites continue to play the blame game. They seek to prolong the war and destabilize Pakistan, but it ain’t going according to plan. It is sour grapes for the US. Pakistan has broken the back of terrorists crossing the border. We are fencing the border and securing all areas. What has the US done on their side of the border in the past 16 years? Talk is cheap.

Pakistan will work with regional allies to resolve Afghanistan. The US has lost all credibility. The US is not sincere. The US can bark all day long. It won’t make an iota of difference.

All Pakistan should say to US is do your worse. I mean what can they do? Put sanctions? Anything through the UN would be immediately vetoed, thats guaranteed. People talk about US/Pak war which is impossible. US cant afford a state like Pakistan to go into War with intact an powerfull battle hardened army , country is united than ever before. State institutes like judiciary , parliament, Media and establishment (Army) are all functional. How can you goto war with such a country?? Thats ridiculous to even imagine.

Worse they can do is stop Aid ( already happening) , back india to bark on Pakistan ( however will always keep the chain in there hand and its already happening). Let them do. Pakistanis should sit at home and enjoy Chai.

.
All these statements arr a ruse to make Pakistan to do something.
Bottom line of any war small or large depends on three things: Supplies, Supplies, Supplies. Pakistan has all the Trump Cards on that. They use chaman, Torkham, and air routes too.
No alternatives.
U.S. Transit Center on Kyrgyzstan’s Manas Air Base (closed under Russian pressure in 2014).
Lapis Lazuli Corridor runs from northwestern Afghanistan through Turkmenistan across the Caspian Sea to Azerbaijan and then through Georgia to Turkey - way too long.
It seems Pakistan in good position internally also. A political govt and military which can take cover behind parliament.Pakistan so far resisting. Pakistan should put up unpaid corridor usage bill and stop all routes till all unpaid tendered in cash. $500 per container.

On topic another tweet fart by Trumpi not need to take any action let him relaxed too much gases in his stomach after new year eve.

conjecture without any solid empirical proof. Royal Services Institute's assessment disagrees with your viewpoint!
Not conjecture, my friend.

Syrian Civil War began in 2011. After a while, rebels were gaining ground each day and US was laughing (behind-the-scenes). In 2013, Assad-led regime employed chemical weapons against rebels in order to defeat them, and [not surprisingly] Obama administration issued a warning to Assad-led regime to stop or face the music. At this juncture, Russia stepped forward and offered Obama administration a way out from the course of Libya-style intervention in Syria by convincing Assad-led regime to eradicate its chemical weapons stockpiles. FYI: https://www.opcw.org/fileadmin/OPCW/EC/M-33/ecm33nat01_e_.pdf

In that manner, Russia rescued Assad-led regime in Syria from the fate similar to that of Qaddafi-led regime in Libya in 2011.

In response, Assad-led regime sought Russian intervention to counter rebels in the country. Russia obliged, and US restricted its role to countering ISIS.

RUSSIA has been desensitizing and testing NATO response levels in Europe for many years now!

Doesn't prove much.

Georgia is a PIIP and EOP member
So?

Georgia is outside the security blanket of NATO.

Sanctions didn't stop the Crimean independence now did it?
They did not, but Russia is paying a price for this game. Sanctions might not affect Putin's grip on power in Russia but it is hurting Russian businesses. However, Russian leadership does not care about the well-being of the public.

Conflict of interest on financial matters and ideology don't account for Russian actions prior to Trump administration!

Because Russia has it's own narrative and wishes to reconstruct it's defensive and strategic depth prior to the dissolution of the Soviet Union, that is what the Hawks in the U.S want to counter.
You missed my point.

Incorrect, America was betting it's cash on an inclusive Iraq, one that would empower an Independent/Autonomous Kurdistan, a Kurdistan that would ultimately challenge and harass Turkey!
Absolutely wrong.

Iraq was unpredictable under Saddam Hussein and threatened GCC states - allies of US in the Middle East. Conversely, Iraq was close to USSR. When Iraq invaded Kuwait in 1990, all bets were off.

However, US did not consider establishing Kurdistan at any point. Tayyip Erdogan's bluster notwithstanding, Turkey is a member of NATO and destabilizing it is not an option (yet).

If US ever wanted to split Iraq, it could do so during the period (2006 - 2008) when much of Iraq was embroiled in a Sectarian Civil War; but US acted otherwise and prevented any split.

FYI: http://www.foxnews.com/world/2017/1...kurdish-independence-says-kurdish-leader.html

US will not play Kurdistan card until Turkey does something really regretful.

It shows that much of Europe is shortsighted but US is wise.

Couldn’t agree more. Enough of this treachery. It is high time we bluntly told the Americans how things stand. Nothing is free. Our roads and infrastructure is used to feed US/NATO soldiers. We have acted in good faith and a great deal of leniency. Our patience has run out. We are not going to tolerate the backstabbing anymore. We need to start charging on a per container basis. If the americans reject our proposition they are free to go elsewhere.

One day expect similar statements issued from Beijing :)

CPEC isn’t free. It is mutually beneficial.

China isn’t the US. China doesn’t threaten its allies even if there is disagreement.

Why don’t you Indians come to the rescue? LOL Daddy America has put all faith in you. Don’t disappoint them now.

.
Pakistan should withdraw from WOT. We have done enough for others, work on fencing the border and let the U.S deal with Afghanistan.

It's hilarious how the Americans keep harping on about safe havens for Afghan Taliban in Pakistan but are curiously mum about the safe havens that Pakistani Taliban have found right next to the Pakistani border on Afghan side.

You're not fooling anyone except from getting some dihati chaddis up tight.

It shows that much of Europe is shortsighted but US is wise.

1. Kurdistan has been routed, that plan failed

2. 2013 report relevant to 2017 how? A lot has changed since then, mainly BRICS and Russian assertiveness in the Balkans.
