I disagree with your assessment of the grand strategic objective of the U.S in MENA. NATO is exhausted, Russia knows this and has slapped the U.S in Syria, not because of love for Assad, but because Russia wants to remind the west it is there...

Europe JQRF is still infantile, Georgia, Ukraine and the Balkans were a reminder for Europe how vulnerable and powerless it is in the face of Russian interventions. When the U.K leaves the only states that are acting as a buffer against "greater integration" and so called Solidarity as Junker proposes will be Poland and C.R

Trump has spoiled the broth in MENA, it has all but given up on investing in IRAQ, it's goal in IRAQ was to create a mini buffer state, we all know how well that went don't we. ISIS was American invention that went out of control in Lybia and spread into Syria uncontrolled, it was always going to get bombed to shit one day.

But what America wasn't counting on was the element of lone wolf self radicalized individuals carrying out terrorism incidents, it is there incidents coupled with returning FF along a porous sea border at Greece and the Turkey/E.U border that has both the Europeans, EUROPOL and U.S scared shit less.

N.K is another matter, that kettle has been boiling for over 10 years, every administration just kept mum on the issue and thought it would blow over, sadly the son is not as impotent as the father. China is exerting it's influence in South Asia, Far East and even MENA, China now controls one of the Largest Copper mines outside of South Africa in Afghanistan, it also has through it's prowess in manufacturing embedded it's telecom tech in almost every European country from huawei BTS though to ADSL+ routers and DSLAMS.

In the long run, what is happening in Pakistan was predicted, it should have been expected! All those jumping up and down at the hand me down MRAPS and Gunships, this is what happens, when you become complacent. Pakistan failed to get international buy-in on it's sacrifices in the GWOT and this is the end result. If people honestly think that this has occurred over night...
Russia did not slap US in Syria; they had a mutual understanding in 2013 that toppling Assad-led regime is not a solution.

Georgia is not in NATO. Russia won't touch a NATO country.

Russia also intervened un Ukraine but US responded by imposing sanctions on Russia in this case. Russian economy has taken a significant hit consequently (drop from 6th spot to 12th spot in global economic rankings). Why do you think that Trump administration is being subjected to investigation over charges of its collusion with Russia? Because American power centers do not want Trump administration to forge constructive ties with Putin regime. Trump is right when he uses the term "witch hunt."

In-fact, Trump administration desires a strong Europe, that can stand on its own feet. NATO stresses American global commitments actually.

A powerful and assertive Iraq in the Middle East was not in the interests of US. This country had to be tamed, and US acted towards this end.

China hasn't achieved any breakthrough in the SCS sector yet. In-fact, majority of Chinese disputes remain unresolved to this day. However, Chinese are not hot-headed like Americans; they are patient.

China has trade relations with much of the world. No surprise in this case. American and Chinese economic realities are different however. Chinese economy is specialized, as in focused on manufacturing, and this is now a problem. China has to diversify its economic commitments, if it is to prosper in the future. OBOR is a step in this direction.

There are a number of other matters that I can highlight but this discussion will get very lengthy.

Let us just say that global realities might change for better or worse, and not likely better for Pakistan and/or China in particular. Both countries have a lot on their plate in the future.

Infact, the likelihood of US taking out North Korea has increased tenfold at present. China is preparing for the worse in this region, as we speak.

conjecture without any solid empirical proof. Royal Services Institute's assessment disagrees with your viewpoint!

Georgia is not in NATO. Russia won't touch a NATO country.

RUSSIA has been desensitizing and testing NATO response levels in Europe for many years now!

Georgia is a PIIP and EOP member

Sanctions didn't stop the Crimean independence now did it?

Why do you think that Trump administration is being subjected to investigations in regards to its collusion with Russia?

Conflict of interest on financial matters and ideology don't account for Russian actions prior to Trump administration!

Because American power centers do not want Trump administration to forge constructive ties with Putin regime.
Because Russia has it's own narrative and wishes to reconstruct it's defensive and strategic depth prior to the dissolution of the Soviet Union, that is what the Hawks in the U.S want to counter.

A powerful and assertive Iraq in the Middle East was not in the interests of US. This country had to be tamed, and US acted towards this end.

Incorrect, America was betting it's cash on an inclusive Iraq, one that would empower an Independent/Autonomous Kurdistan, a Kurdistan that would ultimately challenge and harass Turkey!

China hasn't achieved any breakthrough in the SCS sector yet.

I like how this issue had United Americans accross party lines. Woke up to this news on Reddit and accross other major online portals. No mater what thier ideology people agreed mostly on what Trump said.
If only more Americans read the discussions on this forum they would realise most of the Pakistanis( at least this community which rerpesents sudo intellect Pakistanis) hate the way of our life here .
Even the Pakistanis expats while enjoying thier stay in West ,spew venom here about democracy or liberal attitudes and west in general. No matter what at the end most of you come out with a Muslim first attitude , while others hide behind " it's all conspiracy, we did nothing wrong".
While hosting and encouraging opportunistic Chinese troll posts bashing every news about US . None of you guys have any idea about how democratic way of life works . last year I was having positive impression about you bunch , but deep down you all hate the way we are.

Fvck off with the sentimental BS. Just grow the fvck up and clean your mess in opiumland. We ain’t doing shit for you anymore. Deal with the reality. LOL at witholding aid/reimbursement money. Buddy, just do it already as we couldn't give a crap. Pakistan has moved on long ago. I think you missed the memo. Just inform your pussy grabber president that he should stop Tweeting and get on with the job LOL

200 million Pakistanis stand united against Yankee bullying and deceit. There is nothing you can do apart from crying rivers. YOU FAILED IN AFGHANISTAN. YOU FAILED AFGHANISTAN. Just like you failed in Iraq and Syria. Today, American soldiers are told to ignore abuse against Afghan women and children. The CIA has built a multibillion opium empire in Afghanistan. Afghanistan is a complete shithole due to your meddling. Own up and stop blaming others. You can’t bribe Pakistan to be on your side anymore. Pakistan has suffered enough at American hands.

America is in the habit of creating enemies. You are looking for trouble with almost every country on the planet. America has started wars which cannot be won. All you can do now is play blame games and drag others into your mess. Pakistan won’t be intimidated by a sexist and racist redneck like Trump.

LOL at more Americans should read this thread. You think Pakistanis and Chinese members give a toss about two-faced alt-right fanatics? LOL Aren’t you the same white oppressed Americans who are at war with minorities? I think you are totally oblivious to your own standing in the world today. Trumpland is the laughingstock of the entire world. You are in no position to handout lectures.

If Pakistan is such a terrible nation you ought to stop using our supply routes which feed your soldiers in Afghanistan. We know how the bigoted American mind works. Play the double game and reap the benefits at the same time.

Now stop begging us to do more. You have superpower India on your side.

  • The most optimal route was to ship supplies to Pakistan from where it is delivered to Afghanistan by land by one of two routes {(South Pakistan) Karachi to Kandahar via Chaman -1110 kilometers with the capacity of 75-100 containers per day. It takes 5-7 days in Pakistan and 12 days till Kandahar on this route OR (North Pakistan) Karachi to Kabul - vis Peshawar & the Khyber Pass -1948 kilometers long with the capacity of 100-125 containers per day. Cargos moving on this route take 6-9 days in Pakistan and 16 days till Kabul)}. In the present logistic system, cargo moving to Afghanistan through Pakistan falls into three distinct categories of cargo being handled by various carrying agencies. First category is Afghan Transit Trade Goods (Commercial Cargo which is commonly called as ATT Goods). It is being handled exclusively by Pakistan Railways and NLC (which was paid handsome and profited of it)

The second landward route is through the Central Asian countries -the Northern Distribution Network- established in 2009 - this is much more expensive than the Pakistan route. The NDN covers over 3,100 mile of seas, roads and rails of various countries like Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Latvia, Estonia and Russia. Via this network, supplies start their journey either in a Black Sea port in Georgia or the Baltic Sea port of Riga, Latvia or Estonia. On average, from the time an order is placed to the time of delivery, it takes on average about 75 days transit time from Germany to Afghanistan. The NDN provided 35% of US supplies in April 2010, 50% in April 2011, and 55%-65% in July-September 2011. Currently, around 75% of all the goods transported by land including 85% of the fuel was being transported via the NDN. The number of TEU / containers could be expanded to 500 per week, if needed and 24,000 TEUs per year could be transported while operating at the maximum capacity of the NDN, Till 2015 even Russia had been allowing the use of its territory/airspace to enable the flow of supplies to Afghanistan.with a halt of supplies for a year . and this number is expected to reach 95 % by 2018 completely reducing the dependence on Pakistani routes .

    get some brains first .

LOL stupid fool. Stop copying and pasting random garbage from the internet. NDN route was used long ago after the Salala incident. Another blatant backstabbing by the US. LOL we remember how quickly the US came to its senses and pleaded Pakistan to reopen the supply routes. That is right. Our route is the most feasible in every sense. It ain’t free lunch.

Stop using Pakistani supply routes if we are so evil. You can’t have it both ways.

I suppose in the long run its beneficial for Pakistan. America playing all its card while Pakistan waiting for the opportunity. Pak doesnt have as many cards as US has. But they are again falling in the trap.

Well played Pakistan. :victory:

Also 2018 would strain Pak US relation to the extreme. Its just Day 1. :coffee:

Relax guys nothing is going to happen. Things will stay the same. The Americans have tried to provoke Pakistan to asses the response. Expect such similar stimuli in the come days as well. All Pak needs to do is stay calm.
