Does a fifth gen fighter change the dynamics of aerial warfare in S. Asia?

The Su-35 has recently been added to Indian MMRCA. The 57 is many years away, we need to be buying 35 like NOW.

Su 35 is not in MRCA. India never contemplated buying Su 35 and PakFa is also not in our list.
So as of now we dont see 5th gen as a priority. I dont know about rest.

Kindly provide a reference for your claim that stealth materials have also become better. Which stealth material can absorb UHF/VHF waves? And FYI, majority of stealth comes from geometry not materials.

Which 'old' jet are you talking about?

And OP shows in detail how stealth is obsolete on the modern battlefield.

Which 5 decades old tech are you talking about? And against a carefully orchestrated Indian AD, your stealth fighter will give you no advantage.

1) Kindly I do not have time to be spoon feeding people with facts.
Stealth comes with absorbing material as much as it does with the dimensions, and there have been a great deal of advances in the absorbing materials and coating and Google is your friend if you haven't been able to keep yourself up to date on that.

2) Op can go bla bla on stealth being obsolete, there were many OP's that made tanks being irrelevant in the modern battlefield like 2 decades ago and yet here we are depending on tanks to win and hold territory.
Stealth is obsolete when the ones creating it decide to abandon it. In the meanwhile the little OP's with limited access to actual data will always keep creating reasons to earn to money, and some of those reasons is to hit big stuff by creating a fable against it.

3) you might want to do some research on why and what Stealth fighters and bombers are good for.
Might want to compare with guerilla tactics of infantry warfare.
And you might get some enlightenment on how and what help can aerial stealth bring to the table when one is considering options in a war.

Stealth fighters not ensure you win war .u.s has used all such jets in afghanistan and Syria but failed to win war

Take a hike. And while you are at it, read this entire thread:

You have no idea what you are talking about.

Who said US wanted to win said wars?
If they won, they would have no reason to stay ...

If they win no one other country will dare to force them out of these regions and it will bring fear in other countries of their power and their public will be willing to pay more tax for military budget due to good performance .They are trying hard to win but failing

Everyone already pretty much fears the US and its capabilities ... they need to stay in the region and continuing the wars/unrest works in their favor, keeps their allies buying their weapons and keeps their defense industry humming.

In recent years, PAF too brass has shared views on jumping the technology curve to obtain aie superiority. Here we point out the fallacy in this line of thinking.

The concept of stealth as game changer dates back to the 80s and 90s where stealth was designed to specifically fool the radars of that era. Air defence systems have now caught up, utilizing multi-channdl information, including IR signature, to obtain lock. Russian AEWACS are reporting ranges of 600+ km. This means they are able to paint the target using higher energy and discern extremely low return amplitudes. AEWACS also counter NoE tactics that would give a further semblance of stealth. Finally, radars in the VHF/UHF frequencies have been perfected, which negates the stealth of planes like F-22 and F-35.

Information fusion has been claimed as the hallmark of next gen aerial warfare. Yet, information fusion has limits. The sensors on the F-35 can only gather information to a few hundred kilometres. But with AEWACS ranges in the 600+ km range, the fifth gen fighter would be literally blind to the enemy at long range. Combined with VLRAAMs, even the humble Mig-27 would pose a significant danger, harassing the plane while remaining at stand-off distance. A plane such as Su-35 would harrass and close the distance, where the fifth gen aircraft would be no match for its super-maneuversbility.

The true measure of a fifth gen platform is assured kill ratio in the presence of severe electronic jamming. But this requires innovation in missile technology, and electronic warfare.

Lastly, so far, there is no news of an appropriate engine for the J-31. Such an engine would need to exhibit heat distribution that minimizes the heat signature, possibly divert the exhaust plume or cool it down to avoid lock on by IR missiles, and feature stealthy external surfaces.

The fifth gen gambit is a bad decision on the part of PAF, and does not provide any air superiority advantage in its current form.
Good points. But, the fighter with "imaginative and creative" EW capabilities has the "benefit of the doubt" of the "near-field" effects compared to the static radar systems....

By the by, I think the Russian assertions are little overrated.....

The crux of the matter is you don't face your enemy alone!!! An expansive and elaborate EW support systems need to be remain deployed too in an intelligent and smart manner!!! You simply don't let enemy signals have a field day in your territory of interest...

They are wasting billions of dollars by giving weapons to afghan army free of cost as whole budget of afghan army is funded by u.s .Weapons sale is already working before invasion after partition of india and kashmir conflict .I think afghanistan adds no value to u.s and it is huge liability to them that is why they agree to withdraw from there
