i support population exchange of chakmas in cht for rohingyas in arakan

I know you are angry but this is not what BD is about.

The Buddhists in BD are citizens and they have the same right to the land and rights as anyone else does. One thing that makes BD better than the other countries in the region is our tolerance and peaceful nature. Despite what the savage Barman Buddhists have done to the Rohingya not a single BD Budddhist has been harmed in BD in "retaliation".

BD needs to have patience and the Rohingya will get their homeland back one day, as no-one else will fight for the Barmans, since BD is a far stronger and richer country.

Refugees are not their concern - it's all about showcasing and monetizing the event. Bulk of these so called refugees are their own people who entered into neighboring country in past decades. However, we shouldn't be concerned anyway.

Regarding island, maybe that island can become habitable after a few decades but it's inhabitable yet - most of it is under water from June to September. If they choose to settle people there at its current stage - human population will quickly consume its thin vegetation and there will be no island at all in next a few years.

For all who think the proposed island (one in the middle of image) is habitable (image taken on Nov 13, 2017):

What do you know about
Wow, simply wow!

I am really surprised by many BD posters here. Instead of sticking to the topic about their country and people and discussing a flawed plan about an flood prone island, they resort to petty insults, drag other countries into it, accuse people of being false flaggers, etc,. Someone is asking others to shut up, someone is asking others to take their refugees(are they even considered refugees yet in BD?), someone even went as far as suggesting sending their Buddhist population to Myanmar in exchange for Rohingya Muslims. And then the same people brag about so called religious harmony in BD.

Please try to understand that this thread is about Rohingya in Bangladesh, not about Afghans/Rohingya in Pakistan or Rohingya in India or Syrians in Turkey and Europe. So, kindly stick to the topic.

If you think by just asking a poll question and disagreeing with you lot is 'BD bashing' and ganging up on you then just think if this stupid plan of yours doesn't work out well and thousands of people die, what would be the reaction of the world?

Kindly, remove your petty nationalistic glasses and take a look at it with humanatarian point of view. Thanks.

Please remember that Bangladeshis will be better informed about this situation and following onto that point you have no idea how many Rohingyas we are hosting. Biharis are way more integrated into Bangladeshi society than any Ruiingya out there.

I hope this will end your unnecessary rambling about Bangladeshi Mr. Know it All, we don't talk about Kashmir issue and I'm sure you wouldn't like us to.

Lol check out the crocodiles on this thread.

Our noble 'Pakistani' OP is so concerned about Rohingya that he created this thread but the next minute he's thanking a Chinese post saying Rohingya should be exterminated!

Funny thing is, China is bringing India to it's knees, but Indians here think venting at BD will solve their issues.

Save your faux concerns scumbags, BD has done the right thing and will keep doing so. Let's see who comes out of this better.

Are China or Pakistan countries that are majority Bengali Muslims?

And don't give me the cost argument, Turkey already offered to pay for everything. China accepted hundreds of thousands of ethnic Chinese refugees from Southeast Asia (especially Vietnam) in the 1980's when we were much poorer in per capita terms than Bangladesh today. And we had a billion more people to take care of back then as well.

Like I said, if even their fellow Bengali Muslims are throwing them back to Myanmar to be killed, what can you expect from anyone else?

You think that Turkey will pay 10s of billions of US dollars to host the Rohingya for what may be decades going by how Myanmar refuses to take back the hundreds of thousands that it cleansed in 2012 and 2016?

Just because China took in ethnic Chinese does not mean that BD should do the same. Remember you made war on Vietnam in 1979 and they took revenge by expelling the ethnic Chinese from their country. BD made no such war on Myanmar that was supported by Rohingya.

BD is not "throwing them back" to Myanmar to be killed as the agreement specifically states that it is voluntary on the part of the Rohingyas whether they go back. We know they wont as they have no guarantee of safety and the Barmans have the final say on who can go back, and anyway for some unknown reason they can only allow back at most 300 per day.

Now, rather than blaming BD, please explain why China supports the murdering and raping Barmans here? If China was neutral the savage Barman state would be collapsed by sanctions.

Kindly quote the Chinese post saying "Rohingya should be exterminated" which I allegedly thanked.

Bangladesh is country where majority of people are Bengali speakers, belong to Bengali ethnicty, follow Islam. Rohingya are Bengalis, they speak Bengali dialect, they are Muslims just like Bangladeshis, probably follow the same school of thought like majority Bangladeshis. And yet you guys are throwing them into ocean and you expect others to give a damn about you/them?

^ This is what the Chinese poster meant which you just twisted into suggesting extermination.

But, I'm wrong then please feel free to quote him/her. Thanks.

99% of Chinese cursed our government's decision to allow in 20k your rohinya brothers to settle along our border, as a result, the governor of Yunnan province got sacked immediately. Don't worry, we will soon send them back to maynmar, and it seems burmese has expertise in dealing with them.

Yes, really unclear his position was. You admired his love for Rohingya so much you even thanked him.

@PersonaNonGrata,

LOL

So, if China sends them back to Myanmar, it's extermination but if Bangladesh sends them back or put them in the drowning island then it's a moral thing to do, right? You lot surely have dual standards for everything, don't you?

Lol, I have double standards? You opened this thread - and then you thanked him for his comment. If you are outraged about BD and the island, why arent you outraged by his comment?

And if you don't understand the difference between china sending them to be 'dealt with' by Burma and BD pushing for lawful repatriation, you shouldn't comment on these matters.

.
@PersonaNonGrata,

So, when BD sends them back it lawful and when China sends them back, it's unlawful? Hypocrite much?

Here are 2 questions for you:
1. Do you beleive sending Rohingya back to Myanmar is right thing to do?
2. Do you believe putting Rohingya on a drowning island is right thing to do?

You're going in circles but I will indulge you one last time.

1 Of course it's the right thing to do. They have homes there, they own land there, they have built lives there - they have the right to go back and to be safe. They can't be 'dealt with' as you'd like.

2. Drowning island? Do your research first. Hundreds of bangladeshis already live and farm on those lands. They are safe enough.

Ps. If India wont take them I don't think you have a right to judge what we do.

Good point, but the problem is, they are considered as Bengali squatters there and probably that's why were kicked out in the first place(rightly or wrongly). So, don't you think they are going to be 'dealt with' again whether they are relocated from China or Bangladesh or Pakistan or India or Saudi or UAE? I hope you do realize Rohingyas are in many countries(and so are illegal BDshians) though mostly BSshians whine the most although they are your very own people.

Speaking of which, by your logic, wouldn't you agree that millions upon millions of illegal Bangladeshies in other countries should be relocated to Bangladesh?

2. Drowning island? Do your research first. Hundreds of bangladeshis already live and farm on those lands. They are safe enough.

Those lands? You mean that one particular tiny drowning island? Even if 'hundreds' of people live there does it mean it can accomodate 100s of thousands of people? I doubt it.

We don't even need to build any wall around it. This particular island emerged from the bay just 1 decades ago.So it is still not a matured island.Farther slitting of soil around it and vegetation growth will make it mature and habitable. But it will take some more years.Govt. is trying to make it habitable by encouraging human settlement, to develop the island govt. is investing 300 million dollar there. Many speculating that, govt. is trying achieve two objective by developing that island. One is to relieve some pressure on existing Rohingya camp and another is to make ready the island for future military base or settlement by Bangladeshi citizen. There were many island in the mouth of Bay of Bengal like this which gradually became habitable often with human intervention and now many lakhs of Bangladeshi citizen are living there.

Look at this map, numerous island in the southern Bangladesh. All these island were like the one in which Rohingya settlement is discussed. But they were gradually matured and developed to become human habitation. Many of these island are now full fledged sub district or Union parishad(administrative unit composed of several villages).

Do what you do best lil' man - keep on sending your surplus population to neighbouring countries illegally in millions upon millions
I want proof. India claims that but even they can't find them. The one or two cases where India can show documents that they are from BD, we take them back.
Or you can always immigrate to some scandinavian country, live happily ever after there and in free time, log on to internet forums and act like a BD nationalist, well wisher, pseudo scholar or what not.
Anything wrong or illegal with that?
On a serious note, I doubt it BD is gonna feed them. First the world and especially Turkey is gonna feed them and then when they are able, they are gonna feed themselves. After all, even poor Biharis are feeding themselves too, right? :)
So how much money Turkey is sending? Is it enough to take care of them all? Do some research. Biharis are fine in BD. Even the ones that hate BD and keep refusing BD citizenship are living peacefully.
