Dissecting the Indian Cold Start Doctrine with Col (R) Abdul Naeem.

Why do you think Pakistan army is not match for indian army?is it because of the training or the equipment ?

The Indian Army gives due respect to its adversaries and finds
no need to cozen itself with whistling in the dark about
'One of US is equal to ten of them.’

It does not accept being considered second to anyone - anywhere.

Similarly the equipment between India and Pakistan is also comparable

So what is the difference; It is the NUMBERS ; the SIZE ; the RATIO

. . .
Yeah---paf is the under belly of Pakistan military at this time.

That was not a very smart comment from the colonel---the rest of the interview is just a basic general stuff---.
The colonel has outdated intel. Since then, IA has upgraded its Tank fleet but PA's Tank fleet in just fine. Cannot say much about artillery comparison.

And yes, the doctrine does seems to be in implementing stage.

Off the top of my head, Pakistan needs to strengthen its air defence, induct a new fighter aircraft with heavy payload, introduce lighter artillery, a decent ATGM and a heavy attack chopper.

As far as tanks go your tanks are a joke.

T-59 forms bulk of your armour and it is a substandard copy of T-54.

We have retired the more superior T-55 a couple years back.

Then you have the T-80 which is a complete failure and is mothballed by Russian army.

Then you have VT1A which China itself has refused to induct

We have 800 T-90 in service with 1200 T-90 more under production/delivery from separate lines in India and Russia.

Also we have 118 more Arjuns on order.

Rest all is your opinion
@DESERT FIGHTER

Shall we? :D

.
Is it possible that IA trolled pakistan by just introducing this so called doctrine of CSD... what if IA floats a new hot ice cream doctrine, we will see pakistanis scurrying with azam e dus, gyaara, baara. etc.

You know better than this.

.
We needs to increase our military budget so that we could atleast try to fill the gap between the air capability between Pakistan and India.
And as far as nukes are concerned we have to increase capability of it upto megaton.

. .
That is pulling the punches below the dhoti. You just ruined lahori fish for me.

Fast deployment for CSD is logistical call. The holding corp with Pivot Corp deployment has not happened till date.
If there is any real CSD,The good general said "There is nothing like Cold Start. But we have a 'proactive strategy' which takes steps in a proactive manner so that we can achieve what our doctrines and strategies," . Opn Vijay Bahva was to validate deployment withing 48 hrs and it was not just IBG but the entire strike corp. Allocation of strike corp deployment is fluid and dynamic and can be closer to the concept of IBG, in sudarshan shakti, the integrated battle theater was tested out, no pivot corp formation.
But I wonder why doesn't IA give the CSD hoopla a little more fodder, it seems to drum up big responses from PA.
To be fair, the colonel was clear, csd is more a myth than fact, and as he rightly pointed out, if it was real, Pakistan would have faced it in 2008.

We needs to increase our military budget so that we could atleast try to fill the gap between the air capability between Pakistan and India.

Neither is needed right now. Economy comes first, a strong army only appears if the nation is economically and socially strong.

Yes sir! i totally concur with your statement that without a strong economy we cant have a strong army but what about our nukes sir? dont you think we should increase our capability of nukes upto mega ton. If we do so then we may not need to increase our stock pile, those will be more than enough to protect our country.

Not needed either. Pakistan's nuclear capability is meant as a simple deterrent, the yield that the current nukes have are fine for defensive purposes. From what I understand, pa is looking to have 300 nukes, no more and no less; this is to ensure that Pakistan has enough to cover all major Indian targets, and to make sure that in the case of India hitting Pakistani nuclear weapons sites, the won't be able to hit them all quickly enough before a nuclear response; this is all regardless of the yield used.

It took an extraordinary alliance and effort by most Western powers and their colonies, plus then mighty Russia to stop a well armed country like Germany. In most major battles, the Allied generals have calculated that a minimum 10 to 1 ratio in man power and weapons was necessary to overwhelm the Germans (See; Rommel against Montgomery in North Africa, the D-day in Normandy and the Russian counter-attack on the Eastern front), And all these efforts had to be combined with strategically cutting off the German supply lines. This is but a small example of determination on part of the Germans, and using only conventional weapons.
Anyone who is familiar with WW2 can see that India does not have the power requirements to win a war against a well armed and determined nation like Pakistan, with unlimited weapon supplies of its own, plus the Chinese supplies. On top of it, the strategic dept of Pakistan in reality stretches to North Africa. So Cold or hot start doctrines , Usrael , or even the US won"t help it much in an aim like that. One can refer to the German example for that matter.

Peace and prosperity is the only right path. War in my eyes is an extreme reaction for self-defense, since humanity is plagued by crazies sitting on its top.
