Dishonesty about Indian technological development

You want me to buy this claim not backed by any data, while you don't take my proof-an MoU between one of Indian Central government's departments & India's most premier institute- at face value ?

Bangladeshis are hilarious...

These figures have been published by Walton themselves
and not my claim.

Have they published revenues ? Ever ?

I don't think so but easy to work out revenues from unit sales.
Just go to website and look at cost of their products and multiply
by unit sales.
Not exact but will give you a good idea of their revenues.

No not enough, until they explicitly state it. And they have done that only once in 2015.

Videocon had more than 2billion $ sales in 2014 and no one India consider them to be anywhere near gaints in white goods industry. And here we see someone with 400million sales in 2014 to be considered as aisa biggest white goods company :D

This is BD's achievement in science and research

oh i forgot to mention, walton is also into auto segment ..and someone was comparing it with bajaj auto...well bajaj auto has more around 3 billion $ as reserves and retained earnings in its accounts books..just in case if that helps

a tadpole has to come out of dirt pond to see the world and its size before claiming dirt pond fish to biggest in world

Oh by the way Samsungs cash reserve is 70bn $ where as bangladesh (country) reserve is 32bn $

This year around 2 billion US dollars for Walton
with 1/8th the population in BD.

just curious. so how can it call 'largest in Asia' ?
samsung and apple R & D will hire more engineers , strategists and more investment than that of walton. and they're making from scratch for their products.

I'm not sure you're just seeking attention or incapable of understanding a simple logic. Suppose you need to build 3 storied building in two places. At one place, there already exists one story so you just need to build two stories over it. In the second place, you need to build the entire building from scratch, now tell me which one would cost more? And then compare Walton and Samsung's investment where Walton has already got some facility while Samsung will have to build it from scratch in the project in Vietnam.

i do know how the financial process work and i wont say they will invest at once in one place with their revenue. just make a comparison to let u know that no one will not be stupid to invest in R &D more than revenue. that's my point. wages may be higher in vietnam but intial investment like the cost of land acquisition and easy to acess electricity is much cheaper.

I still believe you don't know how these things work. It's called 'risk' and entrepreneurs are used to take that, it's no big deal. Most of the small or medium companies go through this way to become big. Just few years back a Bangladeshi steel company AK Steel invested $700 million in their new plant when their revenues were even less than $100 million. As Walton is an electronics and technology company, R&D is a major thing for them. And it's not like they have to invest a huge amount yearly as it will get distributed through several years. Neither that they need to invest bigger than their current and future revenues anyway.

u cant get such a simple logic yet.i dont care walton already have one or not. i really care and want to know is 'Can walton invest $1B in R&D alone or not (u can sum up all cost for existing one )? meanswhile apple made $1B investment at one of its R&D center and hiring over 1000 engineers and strategists , so called Asia Largest one should make more than that. according to data in this thread , walton have no ability to invest billion $ in R&D as their revenue was just 400m in 2015.

well , i'm not sure u know setting up R&D and building new factory are not the same. AK steel built new factory to meet its demend. not invest in R&D. lol

Oh man this thread still going strong :omghaha: (Complete backfire on what bilal wanted, or maybe he takes perverse pleasure in seeing his country ridiculed so badly)

would get slapped around for his ridiculous comments (clearly borne out of massive insecurity) by the saner bangladeshis on skyscrapercity.com

Sounds like something fun to check out.

Source buddy, source.

Of course, they can, consider some of those investments by Walton have already been made. And you need to check your sources properly, those investments by Apple are at proposal stage, they are not finalized yet.

Depends on the industry, as I mentioned, Walton is an electronics and technology company so R&D is everything for them to expand.

Meh...this is nothing compared to what Baalton has achieved, even US government secretly borrows money from Baalton to fund their super classified projects. They are planning to open a subsidiary in Mars named Lolton to oversee their businesses beyond earth.

There are many myths around Baalton, some true some are not, I heard the first monkey into space Albert II was a Baalton employee.
