DG ISPR press conference

Yes it does. When other people where being abducted, likes of sabir shakir and Imran Khan said they where maligning the instituitions and now when its their turn, want sympathy and want to be portayed as champions of truth. Army is just a tool, who uses it, it is the true respnsible for the current mess. Nawaz used the Army, Bhutto used the Army and IK used the Army. You can, rightfully, blame the Army, but why dont we ask our political leaders to stop using Army for their own interests? Even now Ik is waiting to be selected and wants to make a deal. Shamefull.
Your post is self contradictory.

At one point you say IK is waiting to be selected implying army is all powerful and dominates the political scene.

At another point you are saying that politicians used the Army lol.

It is the opposite. Army has used the politicians, installing who they thought would be most pliable. They do that to continue to operate under the shroud of quasi-democracy.

Where politicians faulted is that they allow themselves to be played against each other by thr Army. IK did it too, but I would think he did that because he thought without army's support, it would be too difficult to overturn a system which is corrupt to its core.

. . . . . .
DG ISI red faced said it all. All their plans has botched and backfired badly. Now they are trying face saving and pressure on them from even inside army is such that they had to come up to public. Time is running out for them and they know it. In these pressure situation these generals usually mess up more since they are not trained to do what they think they are good at.
Late Asma jehangir correctly characterized them as "DANGEROUS DUFFERS".

Fully agreed sir about the controversial role of our military estab.'s role in our history but for once they are trying to stay out of politics, should we not give them this chance?

Just because they are not helping IK anymore doesn't and shouldn't mean that they are supporting chors

why cant IK go in the parliament and wait for next elections? why do we need this constant barrage of anti army anti state rhetoric all the time?

Please look at all this in the context of how IK came into power, with whose help.

Why does Ik not have faith in his voters and in his team, he is hell bent on demanding that army should declare others chors but should consider him (IK) as saint?
They are fully involved in politics. That's the problem. If they weren't, ik would've taken down the current government already.

The establishment is STILL knee deep in politics.

Aghast tweets on PTI speeches, Shahbaz Gill, Azam Swati, abducting kids, slapping FIRs on journalists, indifference to Bilawal calling Generals duffers, meeting long march protesters with violence, closing down channels, bringing in PTM, hotch potching the PDM from the dead etc etc.

If they want to withdraw, then start by submitting yourself to be under the law and be accountable for your past actions, reverse all your extra constitutional role for a start.

More I listen DGISPR press briefing more feel sorry for them ...he had a long explanation about the cipher ...so it means they have leaked the Imran Khan telephonic conversation about the cipher...more they talk, more they get in trouble...

I honestly never thought we would see a sitting DG ISI say these sort of words, in such casual language, reading from a parchi, sucking the balls of a sitting COAS, and saying such confrontational words against an ex-PM who was recently removed.

"Raat ki khamoshi main band darwazon main aap ham say milain", "gher ayeni batain bolain", "aap ki baton main tazad hai", and select journalists there towing the same estab line and asking planted questions directed at IK and PTI.

Bajwa sahab kdhr pauhauncha dia hai fauj ko aap nay? Ab yeh fauj karay gi?
As asma jehangir said, Dangerous Duffers.

So when they supported IK when they brought him into power, their political involvement was good but when they withdrew their support, their political involvement was bad. Not a very fair approach, wont you agree? Ik himself is on record saying that they should support him and him only.

Sir, IK has to go into parliament, develop his party into a proper political party which rises above a celebrity figure, we need decades of civilian rule, only then we will start to improve.
