Devyani Khobragade agrees to waive indictment deadline

For umpteenth time, learn to understand the difference between a diplomat working in a mission or embassy( where the relationships of a country is managed with the host country) and who is covered by full diplomatic immunity and a glorified paper pusher who is covered only in her official capacity and who works in a consulate(whose job is more related to businesses and people). MEA can claim whatever they want and you can buy into that argument and claim Vienna Convention but lookup the actual Vienna Convention and not the interpretation of someone(MEA or Devyani's father or others).

That is why Neena Malhotra fled to India without paying damages to her maid but Devyani is in a soup. Else the case would have been already thrown out of the court if she had diplomatic immunity and MEA would not be negotiating for a plea here with the DA's office.

It does not matter consular or not, Goi says its been the convention, mutually accepted favors that are provided.

There are several news agencies have reported what ToI reported. I chose ToI for the sole reason that it is am Indian news outlet to avoid finger pointing by the Indian members here.

Do not expect US to make a reverse and make an exception for this crook of a lady who abused incidentally another Indian. And this is not the first case since the 2008 law was formulated. This is the 3rd such respected "diplomat" who has been abusing and hiding behind immunity and diplomatic niceties/favors.

Nope I believe PDF Indians represent Indians in India very well..You guys are almost from every state and if not then at least a nearby village while the Pakistanis here are mostly from major cities...
