Defence Expansion Plan Gets Mamata’s Red Flag

Bengal is progressing steadily:o:!!What on earth are you talking about:hitwall:.Bengal is going backward by the each passing day and being a Bengali myself i find the situation to be extremely concerning.Development work has literally come to a standstill in Bengal these days. The future of this state is looking bleaker by the each passing day:coffee:.

I've heard that sad story from lot of other people from Bengal too and that depresses me. I feel for the people who voted TMC with a thumping majority only to be disappointed later.
& wonder how come with all such mismanagement, TMC is still winning by-elections.

.
LOL burn bhakats burn!!!!

I knew you'd resort to same old vote bank rhetorics as you have no other choice

Spare Bengal, we don't want riots here, Mamata tells Modi - The Times of India

We don't want 2002 gujarat here.

We're happy as we are today and progressing steadily.

I have been to Kolkatta many times and literally it stinks. I happened to watch a movie in one of your theater's and there was no national anthem played before the movie(which usually happens in theater's across India).
I am not against anyone but sincerely I don't want my country to feed the Bangladeshi, we have enough poor already.
When riots happened in Gujarat, everyone was an India irrespective of religion.
And where are you progressing? What are you doing?

.
decent opposition force gets its hold in Bengal
I'm not sure how CPI is doing post election drubbing, what realistically speaking she can face challenge only from BJP and ergo her daily rants against central government and trying to portrait tainted members (Sharda Scam) as martyrs. Shame really.

Pure Vote Bank Politics and nothing else.Bengal has a population of over 15 million illegal BD lungians who are the biggest supporter of the ruling party and for their unconditional support they get free ration cards and other identification proofs as soon as they cross the border. It has been going on since the last 3 decades. The left front gave them all kinds of support in exchange for their support and now it seems that the present ruling party is also following the same trend.
These lungians have literally changed the demography of atleast three bordering districts of W.B. and if this goes unchecked then soon the entire demographic picture of Bengal will change forever.

Only he is progressing steadily just like rest of the radical jihadi supporting secularist deshdrohis are.

Kolkata has become the worst metro from the best metro of 70s, today. Murshidabad is like we have gone back a couple of centuries and anything except Siliguri just stinks in the state.

How are the people managing it there, only heavens know.

Don't judge an entire race based on the behavior of a few people.Bengal have sacrificed the most during our freedom struggle. It was the Bengali people who lead the freedom movement from the front.Heck,Bengal has produced countless number of patriots who had sacrificed everything for the sake of our Motherland.Heck, even today there are a lot of patriotic Bengalis who are ready to make the supreme sacrifice for India at anytime.Do remember the fact that the predecessor of the present BJP was actually founded by a Bengali named Dr.Shyamaprasad Mukherjee.

.
Bengal is a border state with a very porous border. Some members on this forum behaving in a highly inappropriate manner and even going on to make preposterous statements like Bengalis are Deshdrohis and Bengal haven't contributed anything to Bengal and such stuffs need to update their knowledge base and set their mind straight as to what sort of comments would be considered constructive and not the other way round. If anyone has to be blamed its the past consecutive Govts. at the centre irrespective of political affiliation. The last time NDa came to power Mamta was in that coalition, why didn't the BJP do anything about the Border situation and seal it up for good at that time??And I don't even want to mention the Congress cause they would be more than happy if the country were to be flooded with lungis. If the International border at the Western front had been equally porous I am damn sure that the demographics on the other side would have witnessed similar changes owing to votebank politics. As far as the personal attacks which are being made out of the blue on our Bengali fellow countrymen I must say this that I am yet to come across any significant contributions made by many communities in India towards the freedom struggle and even after. It seems that some people on this forum are just here to further their political agendas and would go to any extent like name calling and labeling their own countrymen as anti national just because of their political affiliation on an open forum and won't even mind hurting the sentiments of their fellow countrymen but then try to take the moral high ground and proclaim themselves as patriotic. What do they have to say about the Tamils who know nothing other than their own language and community and their stand on the Srilankan Tamil issue?? They even would disown the National Anthem if given the opportunity!! Chidambaram once said that without U.P. and Bihar India would nave been a developed nation long ago!!What about that or for that matter the stand taken by the MNS and its chief Raj Thackrey who says Maharshtra is only for Maharashtrians, would that make all the people of Maharashtra anti-nationals? The answer is a big no. There are numerous such examples spread all over India but some people tend to be very selective in their view and turna complete blind eye to everything alse.I know for a fact that turban clad Sardars are many a times ridiculed in Bihar especially in and around the Patna Sahib area.Does that mean that Biharis are anti Sikh or anti national for that matter? Please mind your words before blabbering and keep in mind that this is a national issue and is not something that could be trifled with by making highly abusive statements and making sweeping and generalized observations. Jai Hind

You are right. For 90% people in Bengal the TMC have become an absolute nightmare and a headache. As far as your concerns about TMC still winning Panchayat elections in Bengal are concerned let me tell u that the victory of TMC in the two constituencies of Bongaon and Kishangunge mainly owing to the fact that the Anti- TMC vote has split between the Left and BJP wher the BJP has come in a close second to the ruling party and their is been a huge surge in their vote share in both the constituencies. Another major reason for the win in Bongaon is due to the presence of the Mathua community who are highly inclined to the local Thakur family who are supposedly their political as well as more dangerously their religious patrons.Although recently there has been a split in the family recently in favour of BJP the Mathuas still owe their allegiance to the TMC faction of this family and hence all their votes went to them. Moreover these two are on the immediate border of BD and hence are flooded with Lungis and u know well whom they would vote for!! Just let the elections seep in more into the heartland and see what happens. Moreover the BJP is also yet to raise a formidable cadre base in WB which lags heavily at the ground level and could be a deciding factor.

thanks for the explanation!
i note that BJP still has to do a lot of groundwork before it can become a challenger to TMC and considering the party hasn't had much success in elections historically in the state, it has its job cut out. Also they must find a local leader who can be projected as BJP's face in the state, don't know if there is one.
I've also noticed (on news channels) sort of arrogance shown by TMC leaders. Notable is Derek O Brien (i loved the guy as host for Bournvita Quiz contest many years back, but not anymore in his current role of TMC's spokesperson. they show virtually no respect to anyone apart from their party and some of statements given by local TMC bigwigs are even more shameful.
I can understand the caste politics (the cases u've mentioned) playing a role in local elections, but surely people in urban areas would be still voting rationally. TMC remains strong in those areas is therefore quite puzzling. or am i missing some undercurrents in state politics?

To be very honest with u all that BJP needs to do is build up its presence at the ground level and try to make themselves familiar at Panchyati level because for most of the rural masses voting for BJP is a completely new idea owing to their absence from the pol scenaroi for so many years. Most people in Bengal are more than inclined to vote for the BJP (and this is irrespective of religion since the Indian Muslim wants the illegal Lungis to be thrown at at the earliest) but the problem is that BJP is not being able to provide trustworthy and familiar faces as u rightly pointed out.Let me tell u one more thing,in the rural and sub-urban areas in Bengal people are too smart to be brainwashed and they actually tend to consider the influence that a party is being able to exercise amongst common masses.People like Derek are nobodys in the WB Political Arena but were propped by the TMC to secure the Catholic vote share.I have personally observed that the Bengali people find it easier to put their faith in Doctors and teachers and professors and such other professionals and believe me there's no dearth of such people. You do not need any Siddharth Nath Singh for Bengal. It would have been better if Professor Tathagata Roy was appointed to look after the state affairs for the party. But anyway BJP could be assured of a win if it builds up it manpower here given the anti TMC wave prevailing right now.

West Bengal is a Lost cause.

These people have been through chinese level of indoctrination. Nothing can be done till they see the light themselves.

All we can do is try and save Delhi.
Its a good thing, that State government of Delhi only has control over some sectors of the city like power and water. With Law and order and Land development being under central control, and health, education, roadways under Municipal corp of Delhi controlled by BJP.

My only fear is that Khujliwal might stop the funding of phase 4 of metro rail, so that his crucial vote bank of Auto walas and rickshaw walas continue to blackmail the citizens of Delhi

He can't do that, the DMRC is entirely separate to the Delhi Govt and receives the majority of its funds from the central government and in fact many peripheral states like Haryana and UP who want the DM to be expanded to include them in the network.

The AAP clowns can't tough the DMRC thankfully.

@Topic this woman is a nut job and bordering on a traitor but she will get what she deserves one way or another.

for the red part sir,it was always the case, even during Communist Rule.in Bengal, always split vote decides the winner.thats why, here, political parties has to take care so many factors.I don't know from where do you belong, but pretty much everybody knows the truth.second,in Bongaon,BJP was third, not second.it was CPIM candidate and our HOD Debesh Das(sir)(I belongs to Jadavpur University, where Debesh Sir is our HOD).

Matua Community was always an factor in Bangaon as it consists 50% of total vote.but it was no the major factor as possibly the vote was shared quite evenly.but the major factors were calling Cow Trade "Anti Socialist activity"(which was a common trade in that region and was not a banned activity.cross border smuggling is) and not giving old veteran BJP worker K D Biswas ticket.rather,BJP trusted on a newbie.plus,BJP's ploy to make a division in Thakur Bari was also made wrong impression. One Communist leader correctly said,BJP is trying to make a party from grabbing few supporters from here and there.this kind of game doesn't last in Bengal.presently,BJP is getting a lot of swing votes, but, these are not solid supports..whatever...

now about the news report....Dafuq...State Govt coined a Land Acquisition Policy for a valid reason.Land acquisition is a burning issue in bengal.people don't even want to give land for roads and rails now.it didn't start recently.it has a long history of encroaching govt lands.plus, another point to be taken was West Bengal has acute shortage of lands.even then,Army had massive amount of land in West Bengal.but due to their neglectance, encroachers encroached so many lands(same with Rail).recently,Army is asking few hundred acres of land in Dumdum.if someone visits Dumdum, they'd know that there is very little space left in this area as it is densely populated.to give land in this densely populated region, you'd have to remove thousands of permanent settlers.plus, army never going to pay proper price of land(as cost of these lands are skyhigh).there is bound to be some problem.in Kalingpong too,Govt didn't provide NOC due to some reason, and West Bengal wasn't only state which did it.several states didn't provide NOC to various projects due to environmental concern(If something wrong happens, envirionmentalists will fry both Govt's and Army's @rs3).plus,when Army first discussed this matter to the state, the agreed that they'll follow State's Land Acquisition Procedures.so,why they're whining now,for taking some time??I'm not anti indian or pro-TMC.but one has to understand,we're talking about most densely populated region in India, where Land issues toppled previous government and even present government are struggling to procure lands for development.don't make moronic comments like Mamta is Anti Indian or so,as you're not talking about this about a random woman, you're accusing entire West Bengal Government for playing Anti Indian role.

If any state NEEDS the Indian National Anthem played in their Theater, its West Bengal and Kerala. Maybe Assam.
