fact is majority of Sikhs were khatris earlier and later large number of jatts joined the fold. that being said we are all brothers in faith although I don't like bhapa khatris for personal reasons. regarding gurus plz don't spread falsehood.
Afghans indeed had no proper control over Punjab, except the Seraiki portion and Kasur where Afghans were rooted since centuries. The regular Durrani army was not larger than 40 thousands at the peak of empire and they were relying on volunteers from tribes, they were also dealing with rebellions in khorasan and conflict in central asia, so grip on Punjab was very loose. Infact Abdali abandoned plan of war with china due to continuous insurgency in Punjab. The tribal confederation of Durrani empire was bound to fail, even their own pashtun tribes couldnt be brought into submission.....no institutions were develped and Abdali was merely relying on his militray genius that he groomed in the service of Nadir Shah afshar.
