That is shameful. I hope the necessary actions have been taken to make the corrections. But the text books i read (SSC) did hail them as "Revolutionaries".

what are you talking about? lotta people do ICSE.. hell I did ICSE!!! only in 12th i changed to CBSE.. cuz boards are easier to prepare for with cbse... and i dunno if they come under government or not but government is still required to authorize and certify the syllabus.. I believe.. not sure though..

Lots of people do ICSE but overall percentage is quite less. ICSE is totally private.

The system of SATI PRATHA was never a hindu custom. When the Mughals came to India, especially Rajasthan, they used to loot and murder men and then rape their wives. Since for hindu women it was not acceptable they started commiting suicide in order to maintain their pride. But unbelievably they even used to commit crimes on their dead bodies so the wives used to jump in the fires of their husbands.

Lol its wrong. In fact Akbar tried unsuccessfully to stop the Sati pratha. When they failed to stop they put on a heavy tax in order to reduce the cases of sati. It was a offence to do sati without paying a heavy tax. It was even banned by mughals for a smaller period of time.

From the left leaning state that I am, Mughals are portrayed as pretty nice folks in history books. Even when describing Aurangzeb and his policies, the historian didn't forget to mention that he was a pious Muslim and was doing all that he did because he thought he was upholding Islam.
