From the left leaning state that I am, Mughals are portrayed as pretty nice folks in history books. Even when describing Aurangzeb and his policies, the historian didn't forget to mention that he was a pious Muslim and was doing all that he did because he thought he was upholding Islam.

But if Indian schools do not teach it, that's good.

Nah you will never find it in gita. It has more do with a folklore which we have... it is no where in the texts. Its taken from story of the folklore.
