The only real established racial slurs against East Asians are: "Ch*nk", "Jap", "gook"... etc. The Japanese also used the racial slur "支那人" against us.

So if you spell "Chinese" wrong, you're not going to offend anyone.

When suicide trolls here want to be racist, they usually make it very obvious anyway. Check my user profile for one example.

Oops i was using the Japs.... i will take care of this word, Ch.... is very common in India as racist slur along with slurs on dark skins.

Another thing is that I wish the mods were a little more impartial (they already are quite) some times. Don't hesitate to issue warnings no matter who perpetrated the offenses.

No this thread doesn't target any nationality or race in particular. Recently I've been shocked by the influx of racist and offensive terms being used against people of other country/ethnicity in many of the threads that I've read. I will not mention names in this particular thread but I think the perpetrators know who they are.

I think PDF mods should take action and tighten the regulations. I also urge my fellow PDF members to not to respond to hateful posts with racist/demeaning replies.

Thank you for bringing up the subject. It was highly overdue. I was ENRAGED at the kind of bilge I read only a few hours ago, and on looking further, the entire thread was a sad and undesirable one, which should never have gone the way it did. Not only was it racist, it was violently sexist, and treated women with such complete contempt that it was frightening - also, to the father of a young woman and husband of a woman who has to live alone for long periods of time, utterly ENFURIATING - to read.

I hope everybody takes stock of their individual positions on this matter, and aligns themselves to the responsible side.

I'm not sure how that qualifies as racism. Trolling maybe... but racism? No.

When Indian suicide trolls refer to me as a "slanty-eyed chink"... there is no question that this is racism.

that generally refers to kala...something something(will add words like kalu, kalia and stupid stuff like that).... kala is hindi pronunciation for black.

Then there are many much more abuses in India and pakistan which are far far far far from the decency of this forum. english has no such innovation as we have in hindi and urdu

A similar phenomenon happens, when people racially abuse Chinese by calling them "f*cking Japs". The word "Ch*nk" is also used as a blanket racial slur for all East Asians. (I bet the Koreans get extra pissed when someone says that to them!)

Racists can't tell the difference... but they aren't known for being particularly intelligent anyway.

Guys it is not about whether the Chinese, Pakistanis, Indians, or the Americans are more racists/prejudiced.

The whole point of the thread is to raise awareness so that us members would step in and report stuff like this whenever they pop up.

Chinese members shouldn't hold back if a fellow Chinese person is making offensive remarks, and viceversa for Indian members.

While it is heartening that so many people are contributing to this wonderful thread, i suggest that let us not use the racist words right from this point

and please please people don't make this thread another battle ground, already i am seeing that under the garb of pointing out racism people are making veiled attacks on others.
