Crack down on racism

No this thread doesn't target any nationality or race in particular. Recently I've been shocked by the influx of racist and offensive terms being used against people of other country/ethnicity in many of the threads that I've read. I will not mention names in this particular thread but I think the perpetrators know who they are.

I think PDF mods should take action and tighten the regulations. I also urge my fellow PDF members to not to respond to hateful posts with racist/demeaning replies.

I agree. the most egregious offenders lately seem to be people who support China. I don't know if they are really Chinese, with names like ChineseTiger, or just posing as Chinese. Anyway it would be great if the racist innuendos would stop.

Thnx for the input guys. The following are posts that I think mods should ban on sight:

1) Posts using offensive racial slurs.
2) Posts mocking the cultural practices of other countries
3) IQ posts in general. There are smart and idiotic people everywhere.

You guys could add to the list.

I feel that many otherwise good discussions are derailed by racial mudslinging. I think way too many people take the internet too seriously.

The problem is that these attacks are usually carried out by suicide trolls, who expect to be banned. They just re-register and do it again.

Go to my profile page for instance, and read the third comment down.

These suicide trolls appear very often, and banning them is only a temporary solution. They always come back.

An IQ post is a post generally used by the Chinese as a proof for the 'superiority' of Chinese race having higher IQ than the lesser beings. Although I suspect most of them have hardly looked at the report since it has more holes than the current day Titanic lying at the bottom of Atlantic, not the least of which is that Chinese IQ hasn't been measured at all . But apparently the Higher IQ beings failed to notice that.

Not exactly but it is used in racist sense. There is no word called Bharti apart from the name of a company within India

Since when has that argument been used to justify "superiority"? In the infrastructure thread, most of the posters (by far) agreed that IQ is only one of many factors that have an impact on development. Far more important factors were education levels, government policies, cultural factors, etc.

If it's being discussed as just another "factor"... that doesn't mean that it instantly leads to the presumption of superiority. After all, having a high IQ score, only really "proves" that someone is good at taking IQ tests.
