Another 1,587 cases reported in a day. Unfortunately, 31 people lost their lives. 1653 people recovered in 24 hours. Only 19,108 tests conducted out of which ratio comes 8.3%.

19 people died in Sindh, 4 people in Punjab, 3 in KPK, 2 people in GB and Islamabad and 1 in Balochistan.

Things have improved alot with only 1000 cases in last 24 hours and positive ratio is below 10% which shows it has nothing to do with less testings.

Another 1,013 cases reported in a day. Unfortunately 40 people lost their lives. 2101 people recovered in a day. 17,783 tests conducted out of which ratio comes out at 5.7%.

26 people died in Sindh, 7 died in Punjab, 5 people in KPK and 1 each in Balochistan and Islamabad.

Another 1,332 cases reported in a day. Unfortunately 38 people lost their lives yesterday. 2438 people recovered in a day. Only 18,331 tests conducted out of which positive ratio comes at 7.27%

IMO this is the major reason of decline in corona cases in pakistan. majority of us have got infected as we did not take precautionary measures . the nation did not follw the SOPs at all. the markets remain crowded and ver few use face mask. so corona had a free run in pakistan. this study suggests that about 40 % people in karachi have already been exposed to virus. another recent study carried out by NIH in islamabad suggested that around 300000 people in ICT have been exposed. as per many doctors in pakistani hospitals dealing with corona about 90 % paksitanis who had their PCR tests as positive are asymptomatic. we can get an idea by the fact that 10 out of 30 cricketers reported positive tests before leaving for england and none of them had symptoms.
we should also keep in mind that as per studies in western countries many people who develop the sypmtoms of corona never develop antibodies. another immunity mechanism involving T cells neutralized the virus in those cases. so if such cases are also included the extent of corona infection is far higher then the actual numbers through out the world. if we carry out 2 to 3 lac tests through out pak we may get 20000 to 30000 positive but asymptomatic people.

Another 1,763 cases reported in a day. Unfortunately, 32 people lost their lives. 2707 people recovered. Only 22,408 tests conducted out of which ratio comes at 7.88%. Ratio is increasing since yesterday.

Government started charging money for tests, alongside which the government is reshuffling the Directorate general of Health services brass on charges of ineptitude and not to mention some private testing centers have been shut following allegations of issuing fake test results.

Less clusters and people turning up to hospital with symptoms, less need for trace and contact l.

Honestly I would still ramp up testing anyway....at very least to get an idea of the true infection rate which some are saying is actually 10x the overall detected rate globally given large asympotmatic body.

If you ask me the solution overall is to keep old people (and those with underlying conditions well known now) safe and well protected and distanced/segregated as possible.... and let herd immunity do its thing as long as health capacity supply is not breached etc...while we wait for vaccine and best treatments.

Low tests have nothing to do with the situation anyway..... Our hospitals are allhamdulillah getting empty.... 2 out of 3 mardan isolation wards are empty now, 60% lahore hospitals are empty now, 50% vantilators in lahore is now available and peshawar and surrounding districts hospitals are completely empty and most of the staff is enjoying super relax vacations. Allhamdulillah this is just special blessing nothing else.

We got massive recoveries yesterday and now our total active cases are 29,504.
Our peak was July 2 when we had 108,625 active cases.

So now our active cases are back to level of May 18 - the same time Around Eid when people started to relax, go for shopping, meet and greet etc. and our cases shot up which reseulted in we getting higher number of cases in 4k, 5K and even 6K+ daily cases. Which are now down to 1K+ cases per day

Now, Eid is again here on 1st August. Try following SOPs and stay safe.

I want the army to impose a hardcore lockdown for eid or 14 days because as we've seen awaam is too dumb to run a ''smart'' lockdown

Wow nearly 17k recoveries in the last 24 hours. At this rate we'll be corona free in a few days IA. Or God will teach us another lesson on Eid if some idiots didn't learn from last time.
