Mohammad Jehanzeb further explained that the Federal Government is willing to contribute approximately 200 million US dollars as a counterpart to the National Education Action Plan Program. He said that the provinces that participate in contribution would receive the funding as a grant.
These provinces will not be liable for the loan repayment. He advised the Provincial Planning Departments, the Provincial Literacy and Education Departments, and the Finance Departments to coordinate and lay-out a comprehensive provincial response.
Emphasizing the Covid-19 situation, the DCPC said the exceptional circumstances and the unprecedented crisis must be duly considered. Regarding this, he said the donor support for the Education Emergency at the national level had been harnessed.
The meeting concluded with all the Provincial Governments endorsing the emergency education plan. Following this, the DCPC directed the Ministry of Education to have consultative sessions with the Provincial Governments and incorporate their feedback as well.
