we must also ask the extent of her "head scarf".

i don't know what to make of your comparison of this case with harassment of naive western ladies who want to "experience indian spirituality" and dressing up in indian dress to blend-in, yet end up being harassed.

LONDON:
A 25-year-old Muslim mother in London was allegedly harassed by three women for “wearing a headscarf,” last week as she went to collect her children from school.

The alleged incident took place close to Al Khair, a private Islamic primary school in Croydon, south London.

Eyewitnesses said the three women asked if she was hot in the headscarf.

The victim, who wished to remain anonymous, told the Evening Standard that the women then began punching and kicking her.

“They pulled my headscarf off and started punching and kicking me,” she said. “They were being so racist and using derogatory terms.”

The incident escalated to such an extent that police had to be called in at about 3pm and two women aged 35 and 18 were arrested on suspicion of common assault and racial offence.

The Scotland Yard said that the two women were taken to a police station before being bailed to return at a later date. Officers are still investigating the issue.

However, photos from the scene posted on to social media and eye witnesses disputed the official version, claiming instead that police officers who arrived at the scene began laughing at the victim rather than helping her and that it took another man to intervene.

A Metropolitan police spokesperson told BuzzFeed News that it was aware of the photos. “The victim has made a formal complaint in relation to the Met’s response to the incident. This will be investigated fully.”

Evening Standard further quoted the spokesperson as saying that they will “take any offence seriously.”

i condemn the violence that happened and it indeed is a artifact of rising violence in british society ( like "happy slapping" ) from my far view here in india, but we must also question what is the kind of personal culture ( life decisions ) that has created young followers of people like anjem choudhry or older followers of abu hamza al-masri ( the hook mullah ) or indeed those three british teenage females who some months ago traveled to turkey to join fsa or isis or nusra or whatever reactionary group they came upon.

i admit i don't know the personal situation of this attacked lady but the broader environment is not good at all.

No I have no problem with Muslims, but with religious education in schools. Education needs to be free of religion... but since we are talking about the UK it does not really surprise me.

MET does have racism but Asians these days do not wish to join the Police when the pay is below average starting at £20k per year. However the Police are still 1000 x better than India and Pakistan combined as they are not corrupt the vast majority and when I needed Police assistance they were round my house in less than 3 minutes and did patrol the next day!

If I assault your mother or sister for their choice of clothing. See if they believe it's a puny incident.

There is no need to drag my mother or sister into this as they don't wear anything which pricks other's eyes. It is very simple..Westerns dont like Muslims because of their conservative mindset....There are so many incidents..... For them if these incidents let to evolve (or not nipped in the bud) then Muslims population one day will reach to a point where it will start challenging their way of living in open societies...

After all Islamic countries are famous for dragging non-Muslims or anyone who is not following their way of living, they will be thrown out of their so called Muslim lands...So why cry when the other side is doing the same in their land to the Muslims......

Also, how much noise will you dare to make in Pakistan or any south asia country on this kind of incident where police is just mute spectator? You will just sneak out of incident place closing your eyes or may be merely nod your head with words "Pakistan ka kuch nahin ho sakta" as in India we say "India ka kuch nahin ho sakta"..........

People who are boiling their blood on this incident should target first those incident which are more sever and happening everyday in their own country. So I suggest to get our houses in order first before asking from others....

Yes agree these incident should never happen and there is no justification for it as this shows the level of intolerant of a society. All those involved should be punished and necessary arrangements should be done to not let these incidents happen again.

Read my posts again.I never claimed that the incident was ok,i actuallyhave nothing against head scarves (unlike the burkha),women(non muslim) in here wear them to.Nor did i said that the harassers shouldn't be punished.I've just said that these kind of incidents are blown out of proportion.

Some day a person might rip your pants off due to his dislike of you so will you be keen enough to leave the country of stay on those grounds. Should nuns also take off their scarf as some people don't like them. If you have no problem with letting people perform naked parades then you should also have no problem letting people wear whatever they want otherwise you are just a hypocrite.
