Confessions Of A Navy F-14 Fleet Pilot Turned F-5 Aggressor

Lack of planning or unwillingness to mount a SAR operation in enemy territory to recover own downed pilot
Yes, IAF didn't send any SAR operation to rescue our pilot but PAF did launch a SAR operation as seen in the end of this clip. May we know why?

PS: Can ignore the title of the clip.

SAR operation on our side was actually an operation by our army So that your pilot WC Abhinandan gets through his ordeal unscathed.... Otherwise he would have been dead on the ground instead of being just lightly injured... He, being a gentleman, is sincerely thankful for his rescue operation which he openly admits....

I don't know what stopped IAF and Garud commandos from mounting a SAR operation into our territory in conjunction with Para SF....

Moreover..... Wish regards to your claim of PAF mounting a SAR operation as in the vid... Well.... The helicopter visible in your video is actually not the ones being used by our PAF for SAR operations...

But I do wonder what was IAF MI17, which was shot down, doing in the air... If it was not SAR for your downed pilots from some other bird...

Yes, in an air skirmish which lasted for 15 minutes and PAF pitted 24 F-16s and Jf17s against 8 Indian aircraft of which 4 were Mig21s. @Windjammer

hehe ! 5 Mig 21s, 2 SU30, 2 mirage 2000s, PAF package, 4 strike aircrafts, JF17 and Mirage, with 8 JF17 and F16, CITATION needed here. It was a even fight, but a element of day light surprise and Jamming.

He was caught minutes after his ejection.

That Bell helicopter was flying in an area where a jet just went down.
And the place was Khuiratta which is away Horran where the Mig21 fell.

Our MI17 that was mistakenly shoot down was carrying four loaders. They don't conduct SAR mission.

More over MI17 flying away on any SAR mission but coming towards the Base when it was mistaken as enemy drone coming to attack the base and base AD fired at it.

So a heli looking for a downed Indian pilot is not acceptable to you

Understand the difference. All those 24 PAF jet were part of one strike package while two Su30 or Two Mirage2000 or later on four Mig21 which took up were separate CAPs. How can it be a even fight?

Indian logic:

The USN beat your F-16A guys in the 90’s during the pressler amendment days so it is likely that 20 years later you guys are inferior against our guys(no relationship to the USN or USAF) who were ridiculed at red flag.

27 does not count because we were not prepared.

. .
Anybody who understands aviation or knows about its enemy would not comment on the veracity of the video as being a SAR Bell. As already highlighted :
1. Bell isnt used for SAR
2. SAR would be undertaken by PAF which does not even employ Bells.

It will hurt the Indians for times to come.

Additionally, the statement of the F14 pilot makes little sense to me. In the 90's, PAF F16s were WVR only. How can they "incorrectly" deploy a plane that was a tail chaser at that point? ie I get it for BVR as the tactics of deployment are significant where for WVR, it is literally get behind the other guy quickly... ie a 1 turn or 2 turn circle fight!!

Even if you accept that PAF F16s pilots were not correctly deploying a platform they had for 4-5 years at that point, then what does that say about how well IAF pilots can deploy the more complicated Rafale platform now??

Simple point is, every time IAF has gone against the PAF, they have been battered black and blue.. and as long as that remains, we are fine .....

PAF does not need to be better than the USAF, only the IAF !!! And, it is massively successful on that front !!!

They can direct that question to Abhinandan's No.2 who disengaged. They might be curious to know why his No.2 was one missile short when he landed.

Lack of planning or unwillingness to mount a SAR operation in enemy territory to recover own downed pilot
unwillingness of their top leadership to retaliate to regain their lost pride being humbled by a much smaller PAF....

Have either IAF or PAF ever mounted a successful SAR operation to rescue downed pilots ?
