Excellent news... though i would have liked a capital punishment for the Lt General as well. Thing is, The higher the post the higher the responsibility and the higher the chances that they will be sensitive ones. This Rat was DG MO at one time... 14 years is too little too less for such a senior guy.
If you want to deter mistakes at this high a level then set an example out of these people.. hand the brigadier infront of 100s of JCOs/COs and have this Lt General hanged or make him wash washrooms and mop the floor of Brigade HQs and Core heads with rotation every 6 months. Will get the message across really well.

He will most likely die in prison --- or come out in his 90s. The sentences are based on damage done, I believe, and are unaffected by seniority.

I do agree though --- even the slightest interaction with foreign intel should mean instant death.

Depends on who is caught and at what level. Should I give the common speculations on OBL incident and who(in terms of authority and not names) may have openly provided info to the raiders and is still likely serving, making money and giving out info?

A silver lining is that sellouts rarely ever do it for RAW because they really aren’t considered as having actual tangible power or guarantee of a good future to offer.. versus a green card and money in a Dubai account.

Are any of the sell-outs behind the OBL incident still serving?!

No its not.

The sad part is that the Gen ain’t getting hanged.

Most likely, he will die in prison.

The ISPR statement did not did not contain any further details of the offences committed by the three convicts. However, Director General ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor had confirmed the arrests of the senior officers in a press conference on February 22 this year.

Most stunning part was a thread posted back in June 2011 on some Pakistani Siasat discussion forum blatantly stated back then itself that Lt Gen Javed Iqbal was working for CIA!
If you want, I can post link.

could be. until they run out of their usefulness to either PA or their foreign handlers. I feel like these arrests happened in the same manner, their potential was exhausted so they were disposed off. I simply cant believe there arent many more higher ups still on foreign payroll given the history of our generals.

I can but the thread along with Javed Iqbal also mentions names of several other Pakistani Generals claiming them to be CIA agent too, so without confirmation it would be a breach of privacy.

On a side note however, has there been any example of general rank officers doing hard time or being executed for serious crimes? to me it seems like all they do is get a slap on the wrist like durrani and admiral faseeh or in an extreme scenario, a sentence behind bars. could anybody please enlighten me on this?

This BS won't end till there are laws prohibiting Army Officers and their kids from going to NATO / NATO-slave countries whether for vacation, education or anything else.

Instead, we send our best General Officers to the States for War College (or to the UK/Canada.) We need to send them to China, Turkey, Russia and/or Iran --- that will bring useful perspectives.

Thank you for the service rendered for RAW. RAW officers will remember for your service to India.
