General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) visited Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) Wah and Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT).
At POF COAS inaugurated Urea Formaldehyde Moulding Compound (UFMC) Plant at Wah Nobel Chemicals Factory. The project was completed in 8 months. This new plant is equipped with latest and most economical silver catalyst technology, which will reduce the production cost.

Looks like a combination of home made barrels and other things combined with foreign optics, butt stock e.t.c

There was a time when I worked somewhere and handled processing of some of their imports .POF imports accessories along with certain firearms as well depending upon needs of the militiary.

BTW I know one of the officers in the pic (not the chief). He is a brother of a friend. Will love to ask him some time down the line if I meet him somewhere ( won't ask on the phone for obvious reasons as his brother is in important position).

Looks like we're trying to go for something like the MPT-76?

Maybe a gift from Turkey! :bunny:
MPT-76 made in POF :toast_sign:
Previously PAK Army conducted trials of various Assault Rifles for induction. A good cost effective modernization approach would be to go with MPT-76 variants for 7.62x51 mm Nato and 5.56x45mm Nato. And maybe CZ Bren for 7.62x39mm.
Anyhow pleased to watch some new design features and different gas operating system rifles of in house production of POF.
