I'm not saying this is some sort of sinister conspiracy, what I'm saying is that the local christian population hasn't spoken out yet. They'll have to look for or start another church now, which is why I'm surprised that there isn't some sort of outrage about the conversion of the church. I don't care about the conversion of the people, it's the lack or reaction on the church that surprises me.
Probably scared that if they speak out the Sangh will get angry at them. Scared of intimidation most likely. Sangh now has political backing.

.
And after 2-3 years they all reconvert back to their ancestral faith....
True.

What caste will these people who reconverted to Hinduism belong to? Will they become bhramins or to their original caste before they became Christians?
Arya. They don't belong to any caste. Their reputation, esp. that of the future generation depends on what they do.

I guess I expected at least a bit more outrage from the local christian community.
Almost the entire local community got back into Hindu fold. The rest are also contemplating the same, hence no resistance. This is how it happens. When a community of say 500 wishes to revert, first a 100 of them come and do so. Then the rest follow.

the minorities suddenly feel this urge to worship pink elephants
Is this a dig at Mayawati or the Hindu faith in general? :azn:

No. Actually Aligarh is one place where the Sangh is not really strong. So not likely.

.
There is no fishy about it.Same thing happened in TN a few years ago when Congress was in centre.Hundreds of Christians became Hindus again after they realised their mistake.

So what ?
I appreciate and support any such laws.Missionaries always to convert Hindus by taking advantage of their poverty.Such things not gonna happen in states.
Mistake? Yeah, I'm seriously questioning your intent behind that comment.

.
Enough of cribbing by Hindus but since conversion is legal in India, I believe it's about time to bring back as many people as possible to the Hinduism. I would like to see other Dharmic faiths to push for it as well.

Well the poor guy thought he would be treated as equals when converted to christanity, but he give a more or less untouchables like treatment,he has reconverted ,no matter which caste he belongs to he would now mix up among others.
though it sounds stupid to discriminate a person based on religion.

.
for some pakistanis and BD who are trying hard to troll here:

many of you may heard about this guy A.R. Rahman. he was born as a hindu and converted to muslim(because of his family problems) now he is one of the greatest singer in the world. no one neverr try to kill him for changing his religion.

1211-Kamal_Song_Of_Praise.jpg

this guy Kamal Haasan famous actor in south india. is hindu man with a muslim name. he put hassan as his second name for honor for the man who take care for his family after his father left them(he was a militant) . hassan was his father's friend. he never said he had to face some hindu extremist for what he did to his name.
some pakistanis and bangladeshis who are living in a hell of religious terrorism don't even understand the socialism in india. may pakistanis are trying hard to prove that india is like pakistan were minorities are living in fear. for those fool i want to say that india is a different country that is beyond you can imagine where people are living in harmony.

What is Arya? I suppose all Hindus should be either in one of 4 castes or be outcasts/untouchables.
What if some of them want to be priest in a temple? will they be made Bhramin caste?

Does it mean that they will get a higher caste tag from their original caste after re-conversion?
Were they treated as untouchables when they were Christians?

.
Osmond Charles, a lawyer and community leader in Aligarh, isn't convinced though. "Ghar wapasi sounds like a conspiracy," he said. "Sometimes we hear 'love jihad' and now we have 'ghar wapasi'. Is this the sign of a Hindu Rashtra in the making?"
Father Jonanthan Lal, pastor at City Methodist Church, said, "The 'purification' pooja took place inside the church which belongs to 7th Day Adventists. Such an activity shouldn't have taken place there. Faith is a personal matter but havan inside a church is not."
Meanwhile, there is a sudden, eerie quiet in Asroi. Villagers hurry inside their houses if they are asked about the reconversion and most say they know nothing about it. The presence of cops has added to their anxiety. "Don't ask anything. I don't know what happened," a young man said, turning away swiftly from a TOI team.

This is what happens to minorities in India when people under no force or coercion, democratically elect a Hindu Extremist Narendra Modi as their Prime Minister... the minorities suddenly feel this urge to worship pink elephants.

GANDHINAGAR: From now on, anyone wishing to convert in Gujrat will have to tell the government why they were doing it and for how long they had been following the religion which they were renouncing, failing which, they will be declared offenders and prosecuted under criminal laws.

Forced conversion could land those responsible a three-year jail term. This clause is contained in the rules of the anti-conversion law which came into effect on April 1.

Conversion law violation is a criminal offence - The Times of India

In the past, several Indian states passed Freedom of Religion Bills

primarily to prevent people from converting to Christianity. Arunachal Pradesh passed a bill in 1978.

In 2003, Gujarat State, passed an anti-conversion bill in 2003.

In July 2006, the Madhya Pradesh government passed legislation requiring people who desire to convert to a different religion to provide the government with one month's notice, or face fines and penalties.[13]

In August 2006, the Chhattisgarh State Assembly passed similar legislation requiring anyone who desires to convert to another religion to give 30 days' notice to, and seek permission from, the district magistrate.[14]

In February 2007, Himachal Pradesh became the first Congress Party-ruled state to adopt legislation banning illegal religious conversions.[15]

The US State Department has claimed that the recent wave of anti-conversion laws in various Indian states passed by some states is seen as gradual increase in the traditional nationalism(Hindutva).[16]

Just read the article again. There is no mention about the caste they are reconverted to. Msy be you can shed some light on it..

. . .
Mistake? Yeah, I'm seriously questioning your intent behind that comment.

For them that was a grave mistake.Missionaries offered them good life and lot of other promises. But after the conversion they not only didnt get anything from Church but also lost their benefits from government.Converted Hindus,if they are from from SC /ST caste dont get any benefits or reservation once they leave their original Dharmic religion.

But they again converted back without any issue .They dont even change name for that.

What is Arya? I suppose all Hindus should be either in one of 4 castes or be outcasts/untouchables.

In our state low caste citizens can work as a priest in temples.
