Chinese Leadership's motivation behind latest escalation with India

India's Modi lost Strategically, tactically, and going down little details at operational levels last night at Galwan has big impact on national psyche, Look at it in deep meanings. The dignity of India is at stake. Indian Army has been morally destroyed, Media expose as lying as we know for past 10 years. Alot of validations, objectives achieved.
Even in the TV debates the ex military folks' fear toward confronting China in a meaningful way is so obvious!!! It's not like: "We will not think to retaliate, we will retaliate", or "We will surprise you", or ""Inna Lillahi ve Inna Ilahi Rajeun"...

China has psychologically won over India...

No highly unlikely, my reading is PLA is itching for a fight. When you raise attack dogs it will occasionally bite someone out of shear frustration.

Absolutely not. China had no interest in making India an enemy. India made its bed, now its dealing with the consequences.

India was not one of the nations that bullied China in the 19th century but jumping on board the anti-China wagon and provoking tensions at the border all triggers a bad memory. China is going to be pro-active and start acting aggressively as the US continues to get its allies to provoke China.

how convenient, while forgetting that China voted against sanctions on masood azhar and India’s enemy’s all along, and only to support a state that was shielding terrorists that hurt India and it’s civilians.

Every action has an equal and opposite reaction.
China’s moves weren’t friendly to India to begin with.

whatever happens next starts from this point and this point only. In the recent past, China has had the opportunities to support India in its quest to rid itself of terrorism. But instead of doing so, China chose to shield, not out of morality, but politics.

it is well within India’s rights then to choose its friends and ally’s, even at the cost of China. Aggressively and overtly now.
And now, China has proven it does not wish to be amicable with India.
So be it.
20 soldiers have died, in the line of duty.
Many more may die, but the nation will respond to the call now.
And 1.3 billion of your neighbors are now angry and baying for blood.

in the larger scheme of things, unless China has the ability to finish India completely, you have now made an enemy out of one of the largest countries in the world, and one that will find every opportunity to hurt chinas interests, militarily, economically and politically.

pack mentality is now in order.

China is telling US do not corner us, by using India as sacrificial lamb.

Well, it is what it is then. Quite unfortunate. China and India working together would've heralded the Asian century. Pretty unfortunate that this is how things turned out for both countries, IMO.

Exactly Indian Goverment was already on backfoot with their handling on Covid 19. This distraction was probably a welcome news. Could you elaborate on the mixed signals from Xi?
First was that we've been told that Xi is "holding talks" with Modi, without even telling what they are about. Then sudden conciliatory notes by embassy in Delhi. And a few minor notes India by Xi's first circle, again without mention of what it's all about.

Then, it was Xi handshaking, and having tons of meetings with military, and switching to bellicose rhetoric, again without telling about what it's about.
I don't think Zhao Zongqi will be punished for this yet, but it is too soon to tell. If China loses face in someway then a promising carrier will be cut short. Zhao Zongqi is the Commandar (since 2016) while Wu Shezhou is Political Commissar (since 2017) for the current Theater.
Yes, too soon to tell.

If Indian side will have its house set on fire, and if Zhongnanhai can walk away from it without retaliation, Xi may give him a pat on the head, even if it wasn't something he wanted to see under his watch.

See, if it was local commanders' doing, them having kick Indian *** while making a screw up would be seen as something much more bearable for Beijing, than if they let themselves be beaten regardless of them being provoked, or not.
