We are no chess piece between any power. We have no enemy or allegiance to anybody. BD within its limited capacity try to act responsibly and play fair. But if it comes to the shoving we will return the favor in kind. Just ask burmese these days. The super power backing aint working for sure....

Vietnam is not that much richer than BD - 7K versus 5K per capita. BD is also growing 1-2% a year quicker than Vietnam and so is catching up now.
Confidence comes from being the fastest growing large economy in the world buddy.

Not much richer, but they got economy complexity much higher than yours and got overall better HDI, infact they just ended their prolonged wars in the 80 decades after fighting So many times against US, france and prc continously and still get chance to trashing some of their neighbourhood countries (ask Cambodia and Laos) . And their folks dont dwell much about their past misfortune unlike your bunch (in fact they lost millions in battle against US army and they take pride of the price they sacrifice got to achieve their independence). In fact they are growing into nasty, hardy, though to crack and stoic yet capable son of bastard bunch of people i've ever known.

You invited them doesn't mean that they will be interested, Japan's economy is going down fast, they may not have money and resources to undertake mega projects home and abroad in the future.

Honestly given its earthquake zone, Japan should have gone for PHWR design rather than BWR.

Who gives a rat's about "economic complexity" as it is not that much of an accurate science.
Most of Vietnam's "economic complexity" is from foreign firms and the money and tech stays overseas.
BD growth is being led by BD companies and garments is just the start - Pharma and Electronics have started the export drive as they needed to consolidate at home first. BD has just started exports of TVs to Germany as part of the push into Europe

FDI is starting to flow in in ever greater amounts into BD as the main hindrance in the past of strikes and lack of infrastructure is being remedied. Growth will be led both by BD and foreign companies in the future in a balanced way.

ADB predicts GDP growth of 8% this year and next for BD while it says the just under 7% for Vietnam for 2019 and 2020 - I can tell you now that BD growth will probably reach 9% next year.

Most economic forecasters predict BD to remain the fastest growing large economy in the world up to 2030 and that is what counts.

Don't misunderstand. this is not China to build nuclear power. you don't need to convince me.

BD should first wait for the Russian plant to get operationalized first. It can go into delays which is a common and increase costs. Should gain little experience with operation of Nuclear reactors before going for the second one, so more BD engineers and companies can participate in the construction of 2nd reactor.

Doing it now and giving it to the Chinese means, Chinese people, chinese companies and Chinese money and BD companies will still learn nothing.

Various studies show the costs of solar and wind plants have massively decreased in price and increased in efficiency recently. Nuclear can’t beat it. But ok BD going with nuclear power. Having nuclear plants will levy national pride. VN can go with nuclear too, but not at this stage, not at any cost. I think we will try to acquire the technology and build the plants by ourselves. That will sink the cost to an affordable level.
