China's Pivotal Role in Hollywood's Billion Dollar Movie Club

Buddy, I grew up with 'Black Belt Theater' with kung-fu flicks from China that were so schlocky that if Rotten Tomatoes existed back then, it would have registered into the negative. If the Chinese can produce crap like that and American audience can enjoy them, the Chinese can enjoy the Transformers movies.

Give US all a break and get of your faux sophistication high horse.

A Viet lecturing China

If you think that Spiderman or something has a better plot than 致青春 I question your intellect.

this quotation doesnt change the fact that domestic films are cheesy and tacky``end of story

btw, put aside of national pride, Spiderman is a renowned classic comic novel world wide```and that 致青春 can only be appealed to few audiences who shared the same experience in Chinese colleges````but in terms of its plots and details are quite average

maybe you are too old for those movies. I haven't really heard of Spiderman but I read the novel of 致青春 and it had strong connections to my experiences both in China and in the US.

Yes, having a big market can bring you a lot of influence. China can use its market size to shape Hollywood movies because if these movies want to get big money, it has to please China.

I think it is not good indication as the matter more towards a non performing chinese film industry rather than pleasing chinese audience.Other way around chinese are pleased with hollywood rather than chinese film.

a great movie doesnt require an age to 'feel'```

hard to believe that 致青春has any relevance to western college life``coz I spent my entire college and uni life in the West, felt zero connect when watching it

thanks to the ludicrous 广电总局, otherwise there arent going to be much market left for domestic productions ````` and btw, 90% of the current most watched programs and shows are licensed production of foreign rights

you have no idea the funny situation we have in culture and movie industry, its a shamble to be honest

It will force Chinese movies to up its game. Competition will improve quality just like in other sectors of the economy. Chinese movie producers can learn from foreigners and become better.

He's a white-wannabe-*** licker. Nothing you can do to change his mindset.
You would understand his mentality if you knew he was running across the jungle with bullets flying over his head as a kid. Ever since that experience he had embraced the warlords and serving the US as a loyal subject, abandoned his home and never again wished to experience those horrible events that took place against his own people. Thus he's now a fully integrated American :enjoy:

Michelle Yeoh - my favourite Asian actress. She does her stunts on her own.
