But seems Chinese people are not thinking like you. Since Tesla is still among the top selling cars in China itself and I don't see that changing any time soon.
Tesla vehicles captured two top-five spots on China’s April electric vehicle leaderboard, despite some reports of a lackluster performance during the month. The Model 3 was once again Tesla’s top performer in China and the second overall EV in the country, while the Model Y managed to be the...

In fact, even the top Chinese EV car maker was a joint venture by GM(another American car maker that wasn't allowed to set up a local unit on its own back then) and Chinese state owned car maker SAIC. If anything you should be criticising your state owned car producers who have been heavily favoured by your government for decades but have proven to be failures/inefficient and even lazy since they seem to be more focused on relying on established foreign car makers with whom they have so called "Joint ventures" to make decent sales, so they have no real incentive to rely on their own and build their own brand through high R&D and constant innovations etc. So if anything the Chinese government forcing established foreign car brands to set up joint ventures with your inefficient state owned car makers have only made things worse for your stare owned car makers to be honest. Reason why almost none of them is competive abroad compared to your private auto makers who are at least trying and doing a far better job in this regard despite being less favoured. This again proves what I have been saying: private companies usually perform far better than state owned ones if giving a level playing field and similar resources. If anything most state owned companies should be left to their own devices and the inefficient ones dissolved or let to go broke, since they just encourage inefficiency and misuse of resources which could have been better used in other sectors. SOE should be limited in strategic sectors only and that's it.
I don't understand why some people just like picking up on others just because they happen to have some grudges with that said country. It should be limited to governments not people. If Tesla was a Chinese company I'm sure you will be singing their praises on here day and night and saying how advanced they are and how they dominate the world Electric car markets with dominant sales in almost every major EV car market on the globe. Lol Shows many on here are very biased, since some are singing the praises of brands that are nowhere near Tesla level of dominance just because it happens to be from their country. People should learn to give credit when due. Why is that so hard to do? Jeez.
