This is my fourth time traveling in Yunnan Province, China's most southwestern frontier. The previous three times were in 2010, 2013 and 2014.

Energy
Let me start with energy.
First time in 2010, I encountered several times of power cuts in northwestern Yunnan. Now, not just regular electricity is abundant, but I also saw solar power installations on nearly every roof of buildings even in remotest countryside, including solar PV and solar water heater.

I walked to some unknown villages near town of Shaxi. Local villagers stared at me and perhaps first time for them to see some tourists.

Better than enjoying 35 degree in Wuhan.
Too sunny these days in Wuhan, A/C 24 hours, i feel uncomfortable, once walk outside, my skin turns reddish.
Miss Yunnan already, I will have a fifth one when Guiyang-Kunming HSR open, then I can take a direct bullet train from Wuhan within 6-7 hours. I received the latest version of Lonely Planet Yunnan today.

Big opportunity beckons companies dabbling in Li-ion battery energy storage systems。

I think more people should be encouraged to install solar PV on roofs or empty places in fields with governmental subsidy, and then apart from their own consumption, they can also sell them to state grid.
