What's new

China studied the collapse of the Soviet Union and learned three lessons to avoid a similar fate

In fact, the PRC, or CCP, its political basis is the close alliance between Chinese left-wing Communists and right-wing nationalists, this cannot be done in other countries.
Chinese left-wing Communists are deeply influenced by Confucian culture and do not reject nationalism, and China's right-wing nationalists tried all the ways in the exploration of anti imperialism and rejuvenating Chinese civilization, and finally chose communism.
The close alliance between the two is the basis for CCP to maintain political stability and the stable development of China's economy. Even when China is hostile to the two superpowers of USA and USSR at the same time and there is a great famine in China, the alliance has never wavered.
The strange alliance between Communists and nationalists is also the reason why CCP gave birth to the theory of socialism with Chinese characteristics. This is why the CCP is so different from the Communist Party of other countries.
The CCP is not interested in export values to other countries because we know that it is impossible to copy China's political foundation in other countries. Now the formation of Chinese society has been influenced by too much history

Thanks USSR for giving China an idea how a feudal society can quickly organized itself. In the past, Chinese has no idea how to do it. Sun Yat Sen tried the traditional way, by incorporating organized crime (洪门 青帮) and enlisting warlords.

It was Lenin and Stalin who tell Sun that his party KMT, Tongmenghui is rubbish and piece of sht. That make Sun decided to take in communist member, trying to rejuvenate his party.

When the West praises you, you may do something wrong.
When they criticize you, you must have done the right thing.
South African President Nelson Mandela is praised by whole west, what about now

Tips to avoid Soviet Union's fate:

1. Improve people's lives
2. That's it.

Nobody is going to overthrow a system that provides them with a good standard of living.

The USSR communist used her experience teaching China how to take over the country. Similarly the USSR communist using her demise teaching China how not to die.

So USSR taught China how to live and how not to die.

I guess for all these, China should forgave Russia for taking outer Manchuria, outer Mongolia and outer Xinjiang.

would you say a similar mindset exists in many East Asian countries, and the likes of South East Asian countries like Singapore? Like John Nash’s Nobel prize winning Game theory; best for one’s self and that of the group leads the the optimal outcome. East Asian culture, perhaps are more collectively oriented then Europeans like the Russian people, so East Asian peoples are more willing to accept the sacrifices to personal liberties?

Also, China would be smart to be in a competition to attract and retrain the top talent of the world, not just ethnic Chinese. Facilitating their creativity is paramount to winning the technological race.

"Country" in Chinese word means "国家". It consists of two words, "国" means country and "家" means home.
"国" is in the front and "家" is in the back. Because, in Chinese traditional Confucianism, there is a country before there is a home.
China has almost always been a homogeneous country in history. We all come from one nation or even one ancestor. For example, the largest surname in China is "李". Their ancestor was a prince of the emperor of the Zhou Dynasty. He was canonized to 李, so he used 李 as his surname. The second largest surname in China is "王". Their ancestor was also a prince of the emperor of the Zhou Dynasty. He was canonized to 王, so he used 王 as his surname.
Almost all Chinese surnames can be traced back to the royal family of the Zhou or Shang Dynasty. Of course, there are also many foreigners who stole the Han surname after the Sinicization of other nationalities.
But all Chinese believe that they are descendants of the same ancestor and brothers and sisters with the same blood. Therefore, Chinese traditional Confucian culture especially believes in collectivism. In Chinese history, it is not only an iron man who is willing to sacrifice himself to use infinite gloves, but countless ordinary people are willing to do that. This is not communism, this is Confucianism.

The biggest mistake made by the USA in its strategy of attacking China is to regard China as the USSR. The USSR is a country based on values. The USA only needs to destroy the USSR's Communist values to destroy the USSR.
But China is not. China is actually a civilization disguised as a country, China is a nation-based country. If USA want to destroy China, USA must first destroy its nation.

China's governance is probably one of the most inclusive ones in the world. Not only the USSR, China has also studied governance practices in neighbouring countries (SK, JP, SG), as well as in the West, such as Germany. China has the most pilot projects going on at a given time. Experimentation is central to China's governance.

Singapore is increasingly Indian culture. The ethos of the government is completely against people and tell people they are lazy and stupid. Meanwhile the competency of the elites are getting horrible. Singapore elites talk a lot, and promote those big mouther, promote toxic work culture.

Market is a tool, but not only a tool. Market can and will change people's mind and society as well.

Once you adopt market oriented economy, the people will chase after money, the value system will change accordingly. There is no way that the political system can be isolated from the fundamental changes.

China has market oriented economy/politics oriented governance unusual dual structure, but how long it will last?

This is a job no one ever tried in human history, not in Europe, not in America. All those countries which adopted market oriented economy are capitalist society, no exceptions.

China history and culture may be the reason. China was politics oriented governance throughout history.

Market - that is, a mechanism by which currency can be exchanged for goods at a given price - are just a tool for resource allocation. Soviet Union, North Korea, Cuba, Vietnam, Laos, have/had money and markets. Yes people like money. In the Soviet Union did anyone turn down raises?

The presence of a market in and of itself has no bearing on ownership. As Marx noted, capitalists derive their power from ownership of capital and its deployment in gaining additional capital at all cost. Ownership of capital does not require markets: see barter, slavery and fascism. If most capital is not owned by private capitalists and deployed for sole purpose of profitable gain of additional capital, it isn't capitalism.

It is indeed a bad omen. Indian governance culture is very anti-thetical to East Asia.

The USSR does not have enough tools to regulate the market. Now China has big data. She can regulate with better calibration.

And the rich always claim credit to all society advancement like this Liu Chuan Zhi. In reality, if exposed, most capitalist are just garbage. And Marx rightly point out that without labor (people), all asset are just idle asset.

It is people who add value to everything. Without people who man the mall, sweep the roads, build the infrastructure, Beijing 3 ring road is just a grassland.

Indian culture is the final and consummate form of capitalism. That is why Indian elites now completely integrated in anglo sphere. Even Russian cant do that.

Indian culture is cancerous to human being.

China has millions of capitalists. They are not much different from US or Europe capitalist.

China economy elites in private sectors are capitalists, while some political elites are socialists, some are capitalists as well.

This is called market oriented economy/politics oriented governance unusual dual structure.

If you believe Marxism, then you should believe that the economy is the foundation of politics.

The economy elites will try their best to make sure their wealth maintained, and their safety guaranteed. So they have motivations to capitalize their government-Chinese government.

As you can see in US that, the capitalists have huge influence on both domestic and foreign policy. That's what capitalists want in China.

So the question is, how long can China resist the desires of capitalists?

But hasn’t there been an increase in people not intervening and even look away when strangers need help? That video of the two year old girl being run over (from about Ten years ago) and people not helping haunts me. I’m not saying that one incident defines a people, but there are stories of people not intervene more and more.

Also, didn’t the Chinese government dissuade people from Confucius thought for a long time, and only recent come back to reviving the promotion of older cultural beliefs?

God Chinese propaganda in this site is insane, these chinese come here to farm their social points. China might be in a great state now if you look towards it outwards but their citizens are in a hell like place with stuff like you cant utter a single word against government and the social credit system. Its like North Korea with more technology utilization.

capital is inherently disloyal to any non-leading regime because they can make more money by selling out.

capital is inherently loyal to the leading regime because they can use power to exploit others for greater profit.

that is why USSR fell. their internal capitalists (and even in the USSR, there were capitalists) betrayed the entire union for a few more rubles.
