China studied the collapse of the Soviet Union and learned three lessons to avoid a similar fate

China's success is based on the socialist planned economy with the free market, and it is the state-capitalism.

If you fully embrace the western capitalism, you will be stuck in a dead end like the current US.

This.

State-capitalism is the best model for economic development. It is the gold standard economic development model. It is the middle ground between Soviet state-led economy and American ultra capitalist economy. China has found the correct balance between the two.

Soviets had some minor problems with their state led economy, so they decide, **** this shit, throw it all in the garbage. WTF? They didn't realize that it was the planning genius of Leonid Kantorovich that led them to become economically superior to the fascists. They didn't have the tiniest bit of patience for reform and instead destroyed themselves with a kneejerk overreaction just because a few leaders were politically disinclined. What a waste.

Tips to avoid Soviet Union's fate:

1. Improve people's lives
2. That's it.

Nobody is going to overthrow a system that provides them with a good standard of living.
Ask Libyan, Gaddafi gives them good standard of living and those fools citizen misled by western propaganda overthrown him. Many Libyan who are part of the revolution regretted now because they mostly lived in poor or as refugee.

But hasn’t there been an increase in people not intervening and even look away when strangers need help? That video of the two year old girl being run over (from about Ten years ago) and people not helping haunts me. I’m not saying that one incident defines a people, but there are stories of people not intervene more and more.

Also, didn’t the Chinese government dissuade people from Confucius thought for a long time, and only recent come back to reviving the promotion of older cultural beliefs?

There are egoists in every country, there are 1.4 billion people in China, so there must be egoists in China.
Collectivism is a traditional Chinese culture, but it does not mean that everyone can do it.
But you think there are more and more egoists, which is obviously wrong. If you live in China, you can easily feel it.

The USSR communist used her experience teaching China how to take over the country. Similarly the USSR communist using her demise teaching China how not to die.

So USSR taught China how to live and how not to die.

I guess for all these, China should forgave Russia for taking outer Manchuria, outer Mongolia and outer Xinjiang.
Errrrr no. Chinese communists was led by peasants. Mao was a son of a peasant.

China have a history of peasant rebellion.

But personally I reject the historical materialism aspect of Marxism.

What do you mean by materialism ?

Looks like China is representing a new face of Communism.

China doesn't have Communism at all. It is as Capitalist as USA.

Firstly, below is the simple Google result for "Communism" :
Communism is a philosophical, social, political and economic ideology and movement whose ultimate goal is the establishment of a communist society, namely a socioeconomic order structured upon the ideas of common ownership of the means of production and the absence of social classes, money and the state. Wikipedia

Now to describe China :

1. China hasn't overthrown the State and brought the governance of the People i.e. Direct Democracy. If USA is a two-party Capitalist dictatorship China is a one-party Capitalist dictatorship with no say of the People.

2. The traditional money system, existent for thousands of years, continues in China. There exist the stock exchanges in Shanghai and Shenzhen where Chinese can gamble, lose money and the Chinese system allows the losers to suicide by jumping into steel furnaces and off buildings. In China exist economic classes ( rich, middle, poor ). There are billionaires who can have anything they desire while at the same time there are poor who desperately want to get into the middle class and there are the middle class who cannot afford high-quality health care in China so have to, or used to until the recent hostilities, go to India to avail of India's medical tourism. Funny thing is that the official Chinese currency is called "Renminbi" or People's Currency as if China is a Socialist or Communist society.

3. Workers are not respected. In fact they are oppressed, including the middle class which has to deal with the 996 Culture where the workers are required to work from 9 AM to 9 PM 6 days a week. Work till exhaustion. Factory and mining workers are not better off either. In fact these workers are not given due rights like the right to join worker unions and many working outside China are confiscated of their passports and threatened to be left to be stranded or die if they protest against some unjust work condition.

There must be more things about China which I am unable to write now but even from the Google result, in no way is China a Communist country.

We are the Communist Party, but China is only a socialist country, not a communist country. Countries in which the Communist Party is in power do not have to practice communism.
Also, I don't think the Soviets are more qualified than the Chinese to decide what communism is.

1. In what way is China a Socialist country ? See above reply to MultaniGuy.

2. Well, the Soviets at least presented a platform for Communist and Socialist movements and countries of the world to work and evolve. China hasn't done that. Take Afghanistan. Instead of China supporting the left-wing movement the Solidarity Party of Afghanistan to gain governance power, China is working closely with the right-wing, oppressive and regressive Taliban.

In fact, the PRC, or CCP, its political basis is the close alliance between Chinese left-wing Communists and right-wing nationalists

The Chinese nationalists seem to have subdued the Communists.

I don't think China denies that. Who says ideology cannot be adjusted? In fact, one unchangable aspect of Marxism is that of change itself. Change is Inherent in all social reality, for good or for bad. For example, for devolutionary change, you may look at India. Even they change.
In this universe, there is only one constant and that is change. - Yi Jing, the book of change. Published 9 century BC

If communism is equated with Islam. Then the CPSU is Pan Islamism, and CCP is secular Islamic Nationalism. The former is an Islamic country, and the latter is also an Islamic country.
So CPSU is communism, so is CCP.

Your analogy, sir, is slightly incorrect. I still don't understand how you pronounce China, through the CCP, to be a Socialist society. I will say that the CPSU also didn't evolve the USSR to become actually Communist but I will agree with you on the CPSU to be a "pan Islamism" entity.

Socialism is not communism. China is a socialist country, not a communist country.

Simplest explanation which is still better than all of 'Isms' out there.
And even when a time might come when the Chinese people would want a change of 'political system', they would have been very well informed about which side of the bread is buttered and wont be fooled too much by the noises from various ideologies... in short, the Chinese people would make informed choices.

True, Chinese people don't care about Isms, such idea was never part of the Chinese traditional thoughts, Chinese people throughout thousands of years history always roll with the punches and constantly adjust ourselves to meet the ever changing circumstances around us, if having to put an Ism tag to the Chinese nation, pragmatism could be the closest to the truth.

Good.
And I chuckle when I see the daily 'debates' about 'socialism' or 'communism' or 'fascism' or 'naked capitalism' labels thrown about here in America from the supporters of the Republican and Democratic parties as if these parties are fundamentally different from each other; they are very similar and while their elites walk away with $$, the poor peasants are still fighting over scraps and sing songs about philosophies like ' They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety' . A country as naturally endowed, as geographically protected as America should not have such level of poverty.
