By the way, why is the carrier not escorted by warships? Where are the cruisers? destroyers?
Our fishermen come close I would guess within 100 meters.

When you see big groups of Cruisers, Destroyers, Frigates "escorting" a carrier within few hundred meters of each other. It just mainly meant for photo ops(eye candy) propaganda purpose.

That's not how carrier battle groups works when they are actually doing mission. The escort ships will be spreading out tens of miles away at sea around the carrier. You won't be able to see them right next to the carrier like here.

China's Type 075 can already take care of the Izumo class.

It is very likely that our next AC is a 100K tonnes class CVN with EMALS and AAG.

Then Japan can only beg the US sugar daddy to sell the old Nimitz class for $20 billion each.

Japan should have at least 5 carriers. Ideally 10. Vietnam navy at least 12 submarines and some dozen of frigates and destroyers. I am willing to bet the Pla will use China’s industrial might to make warships like chinese sausages.

The total number of China's Aegis destroyers including the under construction ones are close to 50.

Even our SSBN number is pretty close to 12, let alone our SSN and AIP subs.

Without Taiwan, then PLAN operating east of it would be operating in a disadvantageous environment because its too far from PRC coast and surrounded by Japanese and American missiles, bases, radars, and sonar stations. If PRC had Taiwan, then PLAN wouldn't be entirely surrounded east of Taiwan. PLAN oilers, for example, would be easy prey for soryu subs. Without the oilers, then the PLAN can only just drift at sea and a sitting duck like a lone lion surrounded by a pack of hyena. But key to the US Japan side is that alliance staying intact over the long term. 1 term of Trump isn't enough to break it. But more Trump-like POTUS terms can be a problem to the alliance.
