China can build even 4-5 aircraft carriers in the next few years but the operational procedures of an aircraft carrier is very complex and takes years of experience to master it. Only few countries has that expertise and India is one of them. For Chinese it will take a decade atleast until they have the required experience and expertise and a mature Operational manual. Until then their ACs are sitting ducks.

Do not think the billion Chinese are fools. You do not have any experience with A/C. Its like saying yes we got J-10 and now we can **** the hell out of F-22.

India don't have F-22 to begin with ..so there is no comparaison of J-10 to F-22 . As to compare India vs Chinese in term of carrier experience, if you think Indians are miles ahead of Chinese base on previous carrier's experience, then why Indian pilotes couldn't land the mig-29k on the carrier by themself and still relied on Russians for take off/landing test. Beside landing and take off the J-15, China is fully on the command of our Laoning from A to Z: from cooking, health care and even internal entertaining, the carrier is already operated as small village.

Wow .. I never knew we built destroyers centuries ago.

My history majors is in Ancient India (mainly 2500 BC to 500 AD) ... encountered nothing about these until 500 AD.

These must in later centuries, post 500 AD.

But I do know that Indians knew about rust-resistant steel making techniques as early as 1000 AD. The Iron Pillar in Delhi is a verifiable historical proof. No wonder, the Indian ships don't rust at all.

Barak 8 is one of the worst air-defence missiles ever produced and due to its low speed and limited range, Barak 8 will find it hard to perform local and wide area defence effectively. Cross target interception against multiple targets will be impossible for Barak 8, especially vs supersonic targets.

Kolkata-class are a joke and a humiliation for India!!!!!!!

EDIT: India would be better off buying the British CAMM missile. It has speeds of Mach 3 and an operational range of over 25 km. CAMM is also vastly more maneuverable than Barak 8 with a much higher probability of intercept vs multiple supersonic targets!

India is building 6 052Cs and 8 052Ds, a total of 14!!! Plans are already underway for a new class of Type 055 destroyers which will have a displacement of 12,000 tonnes more advanced AESA radars and air-defence missiles. It is expected some 30 Type 055 series destroyers will be built.

India only has plans for 7 Kolkata-class destroyers (3 Project-15A and 4 Project-15B). But now that the Indian economy is on the verge of collapse and the Rupee is in free fall, I doubt the 4 Project 15B will be built.

Yes the HHQ-9A is superior to the Barak 8. The HHQ-9A features a direct thrust vector giving it very high degrees of maneuverability at speeds and ranges over twice that of Barak 8! The HHQ-9A also has a high fire rate and can perform multiple cross target interceptions (Barak 8 cannot). The result is, while HHQ-9A is a true wide area defense weapon, Barak 8 is just a glorified point ship defence weapon.

The European Aster, CAMM and the American ESSM and Standard series are the best air-defence missiles on the market. HHQ-9A and Russian missiles are close, but still inferior to the West. Barak 8 is just a joke and a humiliation. Barak 1 is simply pathetic, worse than the British Sea Wolf developed in the 1970s
