That is where your analysis hits a wall. Your assumption that the deep state's interests run parallel with that of the American people. This is a parasitic class of financiers who control the US government, do you not understand? How did invading Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, etc. run along American interests? It didn't. The interests of the financier parasite class and the American people are not the same, they are detrimental to one another. That is why American media is so overly emotional and angry, because they need to keep the people in constant fear and anger so they can't sort out the actual facts to figure out that they are being manipulated to fight and kill people who aren't really their enemies.

I hope the responses from some of our Chinese members here are not indicative of how their leadership view things.

When the stakes are so high, as high as economic control of the world, one cannot underestimate even the smallest of threats, let alone an adversary as devious as the west is, a nation in China's current position can never be careful enough.

The main utility of wealth is 'control', so its control what matters, wealth is just 'one' of many means to it, if the only way to maintain 'control' is to accept grave damages in wealth, infrastructure, lives or any other aspect, the west will take it, because control is all that matters to the ruling class, whatever and whomever it is composed of.

This does not mean that any particular scenario suggested in here is how things will play out, but even a rapid look at western historical behavior will tell you that something is being cooked for China.
