I hope the responses from some of our Chinese members here are not indicative of how their leadership view things.

When the stakes are so high, as high as economic control of the world, one cannot underestimate even the smallest of threats, let alone an adversary as devious as the west is, a nation in China's current position can never be careful enough.

The main utility of wealth is 'control', so its control what matters, wealth is just 'one' of many means to it, if the only way to maintain 'control' is to accept grave damages in wealth, infrastructure, lives or any other aspect, the west will take it, because control is all that matters to the ruling class, whatever and whomever it is composed of.

This does not mean that any particular scenario suggested in here is how things will play out, but even a rapid look at western historical behavior will tell you that something is being cooked for China.

The chance of an actual judicial award for reparations is remote. The real purpose of these threats is to force decoupling by stoking fear and anxiety among US investors that their Chinese assets could be counter-seized in retaliation for US-based lawsuits.

The best way for China to retaliate is asymmetrically; only seize from companies that don't matter, but give assurances to those companies key to China's development that they are immune (e.g. Tesla), while applying military pressure in SCS, disappear CIA assets in Hong Kong, embargo on rare earths, etc.

The number is grossly overestimated. Even with 100,000 Viet brides, 23,900,000 single chinese men remain unmarried.

Also don't be surprised if another virus is released in China within the next two years. I am thinking Covid-19 was just a practice run. The purpose was to spread suffering through the world so hostilities and hatred against China would reach a personal visceral and hysterical level. Afterwards, corporations would be asked to decouple and move operations away from China. Economic links will be severed. These lawsuits will generate political hostilities and send relations between China and the West on a downward spiral. These lockdowns will prep the mechanism of all governments to be on standby to shut down borders when necessary.

That's when a really deadly virus will likely be released unto China and this time all countries will shut down borders immediately to China. This may happen quite a number of times, enough to isolate China, lead to an exodus of capital and investments and destroy its economic momentum.

The US or Israel realize very well they will lose for the long run if they keep playing by the book(international law and order). Their fear is enormous.

Some hardliners try to push the warmongers into War Mode, but it's democracy, how to push the society into costly War Mode? Spread fear, and anger.

How to spread fears? In Cold War, by demonize the USSR and the fears of Nukes.

How to spread fears against China? Globalization is double sword, you can't cheat Americans as easily as during Cold War. China is no USSR, there is no Iron Curtain. In the opposite, there are a lot of Americans and Chinese doing business and making money all togehter.
