China on India’s UNSC Bid: Neither "YES Nor NO"

I do not know. It is high geopolitics. For now, China stays neutral because there seems to be no urge among the P5 to ask anyone in.

India will definitely grow, just as Japan did. But, UNSC is just a very privileged league and membership is entirely frozen. UNSC is useful especially when it is dysfunctional and these days, thanks to God, it is dysfunctional.

Anyway it always gives extreme satisfaction if we could achieve success when we are actually being targeted...
You guys will come in line once the GDP growth is reduced which is going to happen ASAP. Even if Chinese growth continues, it will have extreme impact on your culture and that is good for us.

We will support any nation if they are serious about reforming UNSC. But we cannot believe Pakistan has the clout to influence against China!!!!

Forget Pakistan, if the claim that the 'right to a UNSC Permanent Seat is not limited to India' is correct, then by extension almost every State has a 'right' to a permanent UNSC seat, which in essence boils down to the Pakistani-Italian proposal, of expanding the UNSC and limiting the veto rather than having more States with veto powers (unless of course you want to propose they be extended to all UN member States, but then nothing would get done so a better option is to limit the veto over time).

What's India's solution/proposal for the UNSC to become a more representative and democratic body where the 'rights' of all States are respected?

China adds about half the size of the Indian economy EVERY YEAR even with 7% growth.

Gap between Chinese and Indian economy will get larger and larger.

I doubt India will grow constantly at 7-8% from now on for many years. And India still occupies Pakistani and Chinese lost territories. Of course they would have second thoughts to admit you to the P5.

Why should just India be allowed to be 'part of this nonsense' - what makes her uniquely qualified over other States?

Has India proposed making all States members of the UNSC with veto or has it argued for itself alone, in which case it is merely looking to 'enslave' other States?

Where is India's official proposal to 'end this discrimination' for all members of the UN?
