China on India’s UNSC Bid: Neither "YES Nor NO"

Britain and France should be exchanged for a single EU seat. US, EU, Russia (it has a million nukes), India and China. Later on, the African Union? Africa needs representation as well. That list would be the most fair. In the next 10 years this issue is going to be on the forefront of geopolitics. In the end, China should support India's bid. China shouldn't hide behind an historical blip that put 2 very weak European nations in the world governing body. Anyway, China doesn't even fear anybody. If the border disputes are settled, and perhaps the India-Pakistan issue, then China should be at the forefront of advocating India's UNSC seat.

It's something little city state will not understand. In this world it's easier to be a lackey than a leader.

Lol! Yes, we are a little city state( Developed Country) with almost 0 resources but we are far better city compared to any Chinese city :P .

With all those natural resources China is still a developing country, pretty sad!

Your comment is pretty sad. A tiny 'country' with a population of 5 million people, ows it's entire existence to booming Asian trade (China trade). That's it. Otherwise what? What has Singapore given the world except a port? Thanks in advance. BTW, 75% of Singaporeans are Chinese. I suppose they had nothing to do with your country's economy?

You're an Indian though, how are you taking credit for a city (Singapore) that is majority ethnic Chinese?

Look at Singapore, look at Hong Kong. Once British colonies, now first world developed economies.

Now look at Shanghai. Not a colony, but arguably better than HK right now.

Now look at India. Created by Britain and a British colony for hundreds of years, yet more poverty than the whole of Africa combined.

What kind of an explanation is this! I can't call myself a Singaporean because of my ethnicity. Moreover, I was poking at ur friend who called my country "something little city state".

Singapore survived because our fathers gave their blood and sweat.

Is there any chance of it when China says ok to the india's UNSC memership??

Don't you worry. China has long maintained that India's neighbors' consent is a must. In other words if any of its neighbor objects China will not support Indian bid to be a permanent member of the UNSC.

Thats where you fail to understand us.The chinese unfortunately have a very high opinion of their own civilization and a very low one of others. This combined with their sudden rise makes some chinese unbalanced in their judgements.Like a poor man who suddenly becomes rich and then thinks throwing his weight around makes him more important.

As for the UNSC i fully understand why china wouldn't support us,and its perfectly ok.Thats logical politics. But the fact is they merely delay the inevitable.Sure we are far from perfect -it will take decades for us to sort it out.But india's eventual rise is a certainty that no little chinese veto will be able to hold back. This is because we ultimately have all the necessary fundamentals -large natural resources, huge arable land, enormous young population for both labour and brainpower, geographic position. Its just a matter of increasing efficiency which due to our heterogeneous nature takes time, but it only retards rather than avert the eventuality. In 1947 we had 99% poverty and couldn't even feed ourselves, none of the experts believed such a diverse country could even survive intact for more than few years.Well now that phase is behind us.Sure ur faster than us ,doesn't mean we are standing still.Neither our population nor our natural resources are something that are hostage to chinese will and these 2 factors rather than a 'veto' will decide where we will be in say 3-4 decades. No amount of insults, jeers or smilies from pakistani or chinese posters will change that.

I'm not supporting Chinese on this topic but the truth is A city is easy to handle and develop as compared to the Worlds 2nd largest country by Land and Worlds 1st largest country By Population...

you can take HongKong as example.. HongKong develop must faster than any chinese city, Because in MainLand china budget was given to Hundreds of city as accordingly to develop them but HongKong has no Other city to share its budget with..

We only laugh on Indians, so what? Better than you Indians who are not rich yet but laughing on those who in your Indian eyes are less rich than you Indian, and who has so many untouchables and slums but bragging we have democracy.

Reform of the UNSC and the expansion of the permanent members to include India is inevitable, anyone who can't see this is deluded.

China is in fact very much hope that India will be able to join. But India is too weak. India has no claim of its own. India is just a puppet government of the United States. India must be independent of the mind and body, and do not rely on other countries. Otherwise India will always be a baby.

A strong country never cares about what other people look at him. India must recognize that confidence is important. If India is also a powerful country, India will not need China's support. In self confidence, the beggars are better than India do better.
In my eyes to see India, China seems to be the whole world (including India) of the enemy, China is like a terrorist country.
In fact, China has never considered India as the enemy of China, most Chinese people are very much hope to help India friends, but the Indians do not think so. This may be cultural differences. On the "harmony" Indians need to learn.
For most Chinese people, China's biggest enemy is China's own. Beat yourself, break through the limits of yourself, your mind or body. Tomorrow will be better.
