What's new

China now likely to call America’s bluff over Taiwan, chances for US to win very low, US allies not make much difference

When did you see similar threads in PDF? I don't think it's 5 years ago. Nor 2 years ago. Not even last year. China doesn't like bluffing.

Fair rational question..

I wasn't necessarily referring to China itself.

It was more geared towards some of the same folks here who have been saying this will be happening for years.

. . .
Hasn’t the invasion window already passed? I guess we wait till March/April ?

I like how none of the Chinese on here have a answer for you. Shows you how much they actually know about a China-Taiwan War. :D

. .
The article started off being rational then in the end started showing the typical missionary mentality talking about " our values " and
" democracy "after having conveniently wiped out the natives and continuing to invade other nations with Uncle Sam.
The racist Australian nation doesn't know their time is over and their reckoning near. In fact sometimes I feel the wily Chinese are wilfully helping them along on their arrogant path , so that one day when the SHTF they will have a watertight case for taking over the empty continent and either populate it with their people or spread it out for its ASEAN allies🙂

China always knows that US has been bluffing, but when will be the right time to call US bluff should be weighed carefully.

Wait isn't that contradictory? In present tense, U.S. is currently bluffing right now right? Then you say China should be careful when the U.S. will bluff or not.

China's weighing pros and cons in taking actions on Taiwan has nothing to do with US bluffing. China is always weighing it with or without US.

I see threads like this on PDF, but nothing ever happens.

If it's that easy, just call the bluff.
Yep... Taiwan is scared shit of declaring independence and calling Chinas bluff... China is smart it took over HK peacefully and it will do the same with Taiwan... It's a low-hanging fruit.

I figure this is the best time to invade Taiwan in the eyes of China.
1. U.S. pulls out of Afghanistan, feeling defeated and not feeling like they are going into another war.
2. U.S. doesn't have ready made hypersonic weaponry for another 5-10 years.
3. Home field advantage for China.
4. China just developed a new hypersonic weaponry that is beyond anything U.S. has and has no counter to it.

If you believe US is the main factor for the Chinese government's decision making on Taiwan issue, you are totally wrong. US is only a side issue.

. .
LOL! U.S. is the main factor, no way to deny it.
You think if US declares supporting China taking over Taiwan, and even sends ships to help China to do it , China will do it right now? No, China doesn't want to fight a war right now, and destroying Taiwan is the last thing China wants to do, Taiwan's economy and mainland China's are so closely intertwined, China doesn't want to interrupt this supply line either, don't forget, Taiwan was the single biggest investment sources helping mainland China's economic take off in the 1980s and 1990s, the relationship across the strait is very complicated, do you know why Taiwan and mainland China never have problems and argue over south China sea even with the fact that Taiwan occupies the biggest island there?

China is Taiwan's largest trading partner, accounting for 26.3 percent of total trade and 22.2 percent of Taiwan's imports in 2020. other major Taiwan trading partners include Japan (10.9 percent), the European Union (8.2 percent), and Hong Kong (7.9 percent).

.
China wont' even embargo Taiwan let alone a war, a full embargo will cripple Taiwan's economy and throw the island into chaos and crisis in an instant.

Chinese government, like the Chinese people, are very shrewd businessmen, trying to maximize their interests in every move and deal, bad businesses are not allowed.
