China is economically WAY AHEAD of Vietnam and India

There is a distinct difference between a Apple store operate and manage by Apple and...

Apple authorized store which is not operate and manage by Apple.

this is zimbabwe?

I think he mixed real apple stores with authorised apple seller?
Apple has 500+ stores around the world, and 200+ in America....

The website that boasted about 100 was just a joke.
But it is a bigger joke for people to believe those bogus claims....
Simply they have no judgment, just believe anything they read, like 100 stores, supa powa theory, blah blah blah
What is a real Apple store?

If Foxconn assemblies iPhones are the phones Apple or Taiwanese phones?

The Nikkei article says FPT will open Apple stores. There is no difference who stands behind the counter: employees of Apple or FPT. iPhone is iPhone. In case you haven’t noticed, VN is one of few countries that has software industry. FPT is just one of many. The company has 5 offices in the US, 4 in Japan.

Business model between the two US companies are almost similar. Apple doesn’t own a single manufacturing factory, it licenses others to manufacture the products.

Your knowledge is weak in economy I believe.

LMAO.

Apple run by apple provides after sales services and it comes with Apple genius bar with employees trained by Apple which 3 party sellers doesnt provide. Vietnamese are too poor Apple isnt interested in investing in a low income with poor purchasing power market like Vietnam or most South asia :)

McDonald isnt 100 percent francise biz. They do own and run its store across the globe :D

this is zimbabwe?

estore is in Indonesia. Which imo will be growth engine for SEA region unlike Vietnam :)

He cant differentiate between a direct store and a reseller.

I guess his actually in Vietnam because in Vietnam lower class people cannot afford to shop in malls as the commoners are really poor. The people they meet are probably receive little/no education.

However, i had worked with Vietnamese that are really smart. The way their speak/present themselves are totally different.

.
The way you speak says you are a low class idiot.

Are you afraid if VN has more Apple stores than superpower China the people will laugh on you?

Yes, it's a pity....

Authorised sellers are present everywhere even in extremely poor country like india.......
But there is no official apple store open in india yet.

I don't think people need above-82 mind to figure out the difference.

Yea exactly, thats why i think his actually in Vietnam.

Like many south asians claiming to be white but seems clueless on how western country functions.

No you are wrong. I am not ignorant nor fragile souler just wanting to give my fist and my shoe into your two ugly faces.

What do you think who you are?

My friend, why get angry? We are all well-wisher to Vietnam, because the better off Vietnam is, the better off China-Vietnam trade is.

Perhaps the only thing people do not understand is the need bring up the planned opening up of some foreign technology firm stores (authorized or resellers) as a point of counter argument.

You may bring up a better statistics to point out Vietnam's rising industrial strength, as I did in previous page, which shown that Vietnam is about to beat India in industry value added. This is a valuable data to prove your point. Nail shops in Germany or outlets in Vietnam are not points of pride. They indicate something, but, not solid enough.

I still hold the belief that the upcoming/ongoing growth miracle will be/is taking place in Southeast Asia. And Vietnam is an important component of it.

You are right.
Many of Chinese members here are actually promoting Vietnam's economic strengths, unlike some very naive members who only talk about number of apple stores, viets in Germany, most welcome brides in SK, things like that.

I do not think real patriotic Viets are like that.

First, I have no problem to deal with idiot and retard. Second, nobody has the right to insult our country and people. Last, you have your points of view and expect people accept them. But I notice most Chinese don’t tolerate other people’s point of view if they don’t fit your narrative.

It is better you speak to a mirror?

OK, my friend, let's leave bitter feelings aside. None of us would enjoy over Vietnam's failures. What is being debated here is a scientific argument by the OP, and, there has been some debate within a very respectful limits.

I do not think there was any intent to insult your country.

We are in the same regional board and we are (looking from Mainland China's perspective) neighbors for millennium. Our success is mutually reinforcing as our failure is. Let's concentrate on the positive to increase the good will.

And I do wish that our members from Greater China and friends will adopt a more lenient language toward our cultural-historical neighbors even when we have disagreements/disputes.

Because, whether we want it or resist it, change for good is on the ground.

China-Vietnam border crossing breaks visitor record
Xinhua, December 04, 2017

The number of people who passed through the China-Vietnam border port of Dongxing in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region this year hit a record high of 9 million on Monday, the border control office said.

Dongxing is the third largest land port in China, and the only port connecting China and Vietnam via both land and sea. Since 2013, China has allowed foreigners to apply for visas in Dongxing, which has increased the number of tourists from around the world using the city to enter China from Southeast Asia, according to the local tourism bureau.

Tourism on the China-Vietnam border is booming, thanks to government policies and abundant resources. Meanwhile, easy access and affordable facilities have helped draw Chinese tourists from the north to visit the area during winter, according to an border control officer.

Who is really insulting Vietnam?
Some Chinese members who promote industrial capacity of Vietnam?
Or those overseas Viets who talk about Germany, fake apple stores, popular bride with Korean men?

Exactly. I feel our approaches to pride and insult are different. To me, I feel concerned if I see the crowding of foreign brands in my country while national brands are nowhere to be seen or disappearing.

Sending people overseas for hard manual job is also nothing to boast about although China may have had its share of it.

The point is to feel bitter about that and work hard to never let that happen again.

Hmm.. Every Indonesians who ever travel to Vietnam say that Hanoi is like Jakarta in 90s. I don't know whether it's true or not since I never travel to Vietnam. @Daniel808 @antonius123 ??

Yes, Hanoi is much dirtier than Jakarta.
That for sure, even in some tourist spot there is so many garbage on the street. It just ruin your whole family photo album, always at least 1 or 2 garbage on every of photos you take in Hanoi.

I don't say Jakarta is free from garbage, but at least Jakarta much better than Dirty Hanoi especially after our last governor "Basuki Tjahaja Purnama" estlabish Orange troops who responsible to clean garbage in Jakarta streets.

What fake Apple store? What is true Apple store? What is true China what fake China? If I talk on viet brides and other things I insult VN? If I talk Chinese eating dogs I insult China? I insult Germany if I say the Germans dislike the Turks? You should make up your mind. Not everything I say is insulting.

Ok post pictures of Hanoi with garbage I want to see it. Also post pictures of Jakarta with clean streets.

bro no offense what you feel is irrelevant, I welcome everything that brings VN forward. If China and Taiwan bring peace and prosperity to VN, I will applaud it no matter how small the contributions. Words are cheap. Actions count more.

As for Apple, it is good if next year Apple wants direct sales of iPhone in VN, because until now the company has little interest but now thing has changed. Nobody is interested whether true or fake Apple stores will be set up.

Vietnam and India are among the most corrupt countries in the world. You can hardly get anything done without bribing someone there, the vietnamese customs staff and police officers even openly ask bribes from foreign tourists. Simply disgusting.

Such level of corruption, if not dealt with, will no doubt hinder their chances of ever becoming economic powerhouses, let alone catching up with China

Indeed some of the oversea vietnamese posses a very peculiar mindset...still cant figure out what caused it.. but at least they are entertaining:-)

@Martian2 my dear friend,

Yet again a good analysis....thoughtful, logical and fact based.

However, we need to incorporate a few more factors in our model if we desire a more accurate forecast of comparative development of the two states you noted while benchmarking against China.

It is not just the volumes or numbers game really. Not anymore. GDP sans financial 'industry' is what matters and shall remain so.

We need to baseline the current technological, sociological and political developments (provision of services, quality of defence equipment and production) of China against the two states. Only then a rational picture can emerge.

China in ten years hence will be a genetic engineering and AI global leader... these two elements are the turbo charged engines of the Chinese industrial upgradations... robotics, 3D printing, AI, IoT, smart cities and smart factories... it is so an alien world for the two states to be compared with.

How can they catch up? Ever.

As I have maintained... we should be benchmarking China with the collective output of the entire West. Because that is the true comparison really. As China is going out and seeking collaborations with leading countries... the gap is only going to widen.

I for one wish both India and VietNam the very best in advancing Human Condition in their respective states.

Anyhow, brilliant output by your good self as always.

Regards,

Mangus

Well that doesn’t explain why Chinese tourists flood VN in record numbers.

But hey as for exile Vietnamese, I notice Chinese restaurants in Germany die in record numbers too that is entertaining considering Vietnamese restaurants boom without end in sight.
