What's new

China invades another Phil. Island.

That's not true. You need to go way way back to time before China and the Han Chinese. Way back into history and ask yourself who planted the seed for all the branches? They aren't the original but we do branches off. Japanese are Japanese because they think differently and their believes are different. Different beliefs build different ppl.

The Japan and Japanese that you know and see is a product of Han Yayoi migration into what is now the Japanese Archipelago. The mingling of Han and Koreans, actually. With them, the Han brought bronze culture , and high civilization that transformed the landscape. Everything you see in Japan --- is years, thousands of years, of cultural accumulation by way of China and Korea (more so China).

Yes the identity of Japanese are their own, but because of deep Chinese influence (genetic and cultural), Japan we know of today exists.

This is why we Japanese have a mixed and sensitive issue with China. Japan cannot belie China as we know we come from them, and as much as politics plays politic, Japan (and Japanese people) need China (and Chinese people).

Mongol invasion should ring a bell to some people. China built the Great Wall for nothing then lost everything to the Mongol. Did the Great Beautiful Wall of China stop the Mongols? nope LOL.

Why not tell the complete story?

The Mongols lost 34 of 40 tumen to China during the rise of the Ming Dynasty. Only 6 tumen managed to escape to the steppe. The 40 tumen of the Mongol Empire were the elite of Mongol society and military.

Why do you think the Mongol Empire never rose again? They couldn't because they lost 85% of their best people to China.

Also, even if we assume the Ming forces killed most of the Mongol warriors in China, what do you think happened to their families? What happened to the Mongol women and children? What happened to the non-warriors? The answer is simple. They were absorbed into Chinese civilization over the next few centuries. In conclusion, the Mongol Empire lives on inside the PRC right now. It is in the DNA. Same is true for the Manchu and many groups of East Asians absorbed into Chinese civilization over the course of several thousand years.

Exactly, well put. Trusting Uncle Sam will be a disaster of magnificent proportions. US will only look after its own interest, it will not lose sweat if some other country gets whacked. Ukraine learnt it the hard way by losing significant chunk of land.

Would not be surprised if China drops a "monroe doctrine" on America :P. Welcome to the multipolar world.
Is US supposed to defend every country from Chinese aggression?

US will not make a move unless China crosses the red line.

Tibetans, too, are actually Mongols. Present day China is relatively the same borders of the Yuan and Qing Dynasties:

My friend, with China and Russia's alliance ? There is nothing the US and NATO can really do.

I understand your guys hate China for a reason, but the ignorance you displayed here is mind blowing. Maybe this is one of the reasons for all your braveness, Vietnam is still a tiny backward country that depends its very survival on China today?

lol, nah, I'm not ignorant. You are ignorant for believing your government is taking care of you when in fact China is a backward country with no freedom, lack of social services, lack of healthcare, no control in safety and food, no transparency (at least worst than the USA). Vietnam depends on China is a dumb move.

Then you cannot say we are Chinese. Chinese is Chinese, you are you. Sure we came from the same branch, but that doesn't mean we are the same people. From a political stand, Chinese needs Japan and Japan needs China. There are gains somewhere between the line and that's why you need that relationship.

Here we go again. It seems like you don't like the fact that you lost to the Mongol and half of the Chinese population were wiped off the map. This is so typical of a Chinese response. There's no cover up for your weakness, it's already proven throughout history that you guys can't fight effectively as the Mongol and the Viet. Just keep building your walls and produce more people.

My friend,

You place too much faith on Russo-Chinese alliance. Russian and Chinese interests co-align in some areas but these two are unlikely to fight a war for each other. If China orchestrates a war in the SCS region, I don't see the possibility of Russia dispatching its navy to assist China.

At present, US have managed to cripple Russia economically through heavy sanctions and devaluation of oil. Russia cannot do much with its economy in tatters. On the other hand, US have the military capability to unilaterally contain China, should the need arise.

However, US is unlikely to go to extreme lengths to contain China [for other countries] without a significant cause. For example, if China invades Taiwan then such an aggressive maneuver will motivate US to become proactive in the region and contain China through the use of excessive force. However, China is not giving US such an excuse anytime soon.

Russia needs USA. They want to get along with the USA but their political interests don't align.

Bhai, you are blaming the wrong guy here. You should have blamed the Brits for the creation of the "McMahon Line" and your leader Nehru for his blunder in carrying out its "Forward Policy". We have been good friends prior. If we can resolve our borders we can once again chant out "Hindi Chini Bhai Bhai" on our loudspeakers.

Aint US the global sheriff who pokes his nose every where ?

US will not make a move unless China crosses the red line.
Russia took back crimea what did US do other than sanctions. Against China they dont stand a chance, any sanctions will backfire.

Well, some Filipinos think US is obligated to die for their land grabbing, and Vietnamese and Indians here are just dying to see China and US beat the sh1t out of each other. US should make its defense pack more specific to Filipinos so they will not have some unrealistic fantasy.

The US considers every country in that area to be a squatter if an island's ownership hasn't been decided and they are occupying it.

.

Vietnam's per capital GDP is $2052 in 2015 and it is just a little better than Indian, and it's roughly 1/4 of China's. If you think China is a backward country, then Vietnam can be categorized as a primitive society. Large number of Vietnamese women across the border sold to Chinese men says is it all.

When it comes to the political freedom, Vietnam being one of few communist dictatorship countries in the world, should be the last one to accuse others. Learn to have some shame.

They are trying their luck, while awaiting for Hague's deliberation. A slap to the very "legal" process they were bitching & yapping all the time. 8-)
