China Has No Clear Strategy And It's OK

So all the cyber attack allegations, human rights, territorial disputes, ip violations, stealing all the jobs away from America, creating competing organizations like AIIB, selling nuclear reactors, selling drones, weapons, and I can think of at least 100 other things, we are still very much on good footing?
You sound just like Mr. Trump. So I guess when that break comes, the one thing China will NEVER be able to say, is that America was just too impatient, too impetuous, and is the cause of all this. But thanks for detailing to the world who will be the country to blame if it all goes to shit between China and the West. :enjoy:

.
And that is exactly what makes the situation in the SCS so very, very, dangerous, i.e., that China or at least, many Chinese such as yourself, so completely and totally misread America's resolve.

But does anyone seriously think that America will cut off economic relations over the SCS? Has the White House ever hinted at anything close to that?

We are betting that America will not use military force to stop us in the South China Sea, or cut off economic ties, etc. Because they will lose just as much as we will.

Trump will understand, he is a poker player. Sometimes you make a bad bet and you have to live with it. But you do have to make the bet, you have to be the pro-active one, or you will just lose slowly over time to the blinds.

.
So why should we rock the boat?
That is the $64,000 question that all of your neighbours in the SCS are asking themselves. It's baffling but you don't need to convince me. You need to convince all of them who are buying weapons, signing treaties, and building up their armed forces as fast as they can in a new arms race that China has caused, to find your answer.

lol, so you finally see where I'm leading you and you want to divert the topic. Good arguing with you. Let's never do it again.

This is apparently a nearly impossible concept for you to grasp, but....yes, America can't invoke a mutual defence treaty for the Philippines, unilaterally. That is up to them. Perhaps you should ask them. I'm really not sure why such an elementary concept seems to allude you. You seem to have a fairly good command of English, and yet...

For Bold part, perhaps we should do more to shut Philippine's mouth or any American's ally mouth so they can't invoke the defense treaty.

If it devolves into a shooting war between China and America's allies, then it most certainly would. We aren't going to have trade with a country we are at war with.

If it becomes a shooting war, we won't be the ones firing the first shot. Like I said we are the ones who gain the most from waiting.

That's up to America's allies, whether they have itchy trigger fingers or not. If they do, then we will have to retaliate of course, and we will have full rights to do so since we did not fire the first shot.

:smart: See, that's why America does not need to "lobby" any of our allies in the region. They see Chinese attitudes like you express here about "shutting their mouths", and they start buying more arms and signing more defence agreements with each other and with us. You are doing all our work for us.

That tone he invoked seemingly supports that the Chinese love the idea that China will do a covert military action against the Philippines.

.
In a heartbeat, as the saying goes. America was about the wealthiest country in the world and a superpower before we had any trade with China, and we will remain so if it ends. Lots of other developing countries in the world to do business with.

Lol nowadays most Americans can't live without "Made in China" product, sure nothing prevent US to do business with other developing countries, but so do China if we decide to pull out WTO and create our own trade system as we did with AIIB, we can bankrupt US through competition since we're now the world manufacturing floor, we can easily dumb the price so low that US big corporate such Apple, Microsoft will run out of business.

Haha nice try, I didn't said how we gonna shut their mouth...maybe with money or maybe with other means.:azn:

Pure speculation:whistle:..don't try to be a mind reader:rolleyes:

But you don't seem to get that America was a wealthy country and super-power long before our trade with China and we will be if it ends. America did not and does not need China, in order to still be about the most wealthy country on earth. China needs trade with countries like America, the EU, Japan, in order to continue it's progress.

Haha nice try, I didn't said how we gonna shut their mouth...maybe with money or maybe with other means.:azn:
Again, thank you! I'll just leave the argument and let you talk. Posters on PDF from SCS countries can just read your words and draw their own conclusions.

If you check the composition of Chinese GDP growth, the majority comes from internal consumption, the second most comes from internal investment, whereas net trade is actually a drag on GDP growth every year. :P

So we call your bluff. Cut off economic ties.

Sure, maybe we made the wrong bet. But we won't know until America decides to do it. :azn: And every year America doesn't do it, our bet is paying off.

You could really throw us off kilter by actually following through with it of course. If America actually DOES cut off economic ties I'll be the first one to say I was wrong. But until then...

.
. America did not and does not need China, in order to still be about the most wealthy country on earth. .

Tell that to your government if they concur with you and especially your big corporation, they lobby so badly your government to do business with China or they will bankrupt themselves through competition against Japan, EU and others, you think Apple can bit Samsung smartphone without having a manufacturing plant in China.

Again, thank you! I'll just leave the argument and let you talk. Posters on PDF from SCS countries can just read your words and draw their own conclusions.

Don't worry they get use with what I said:D, I only speak the truth....nothing but the true:sniper:.
