China bans immoral songs online

BEIJING, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- The Ministry of Culture on Monday released a blacklist of 120 songs that "trumpeted obscenity, violence, crime or harmed social morality", and ordered website administrators to remove them from their sites.

Including titles such as "Beijing Hooligans", "Don't Want to Go to School" and "Suicide Diary", the banned songs were described as "having severely problematic content", which violated an online cultural management regulation, according to a a ministry statement. Songs by household names such as Chang Csun Yuk and Stanley Huang were also on the list.

"No unit or individual is allowed to provide [these songs]," the statement read, promising severe punishment for those that failed to comply with the take-down notice.

The blacklist will serve as a reference for online administrators to ensure their content is legal, said Liu Qiang, a ministry official in charge of the cultural market, adding that the list will be regularly updated.

Well that almost equals banning all foreign music because I am pretty sure that the CCP will have a vague description of "immoral songs" that there is a high-probability that the CCP will say this:

"
Foreign music is immoral! Listen only to state-sanctioned pop-musicians' songs! Be patriotic to your country!"

Don't know about India, but a song full of fu.k is allowed in the US......

In fact, there is a lily allen song called "FUC. YOU" released in 2009. Went on to spot 68 of US billboard 100 and 4 in both Norway and Finland Chart

Why not play porno movie in the daily TV ?If American or Australia do that, does that means we should do too?

Sorry, unlike the internet porno on tv isn't free. You have to specifically pay for those channels. So it's not like you can casually flip the channels on any TV in the afternoon and hit pay dirt.
