China and Pakistan should provide help and protection to small nations like Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh & Maldives.

Chinese and Pakistani nuke umbrella will protect smaller South Asian nations from the Indian bullying.

SCO is the closest thing you can expect. Chinese won’t want to get entangled in south Asian messes unless it directly affects their interests, and who can blame them. They have a plan by 2050 to be free of dependence on exports. They don’t need distractions from their primarily goal over the next 27 years.

For Pakistan, it needs to see how it can be of utility to the larger markets and still prevent Indian hegemony in its region. The best way IMHO, is opening a route to Central Asia and building on the geo-graphical potential Pakistan has.
