Cars on China's Roads

Chinese car makers now needs to head international. There are still countries like India, Pakistan, Philippines, Vietnam, etc. where their mobile phones conquered the big boys like Samsung and Apple, the same can be with cars. That's my opinion.
What do you guys think?
@TaiShang @Kai Liu @Chinese-Dragon @+4vsgorillas-Apebane @AndrewJin @Stranagor @Dungeness @waz @Maarkhoor
@snow lake @oprih @Viet @Viva_Viet (idiot) @eldarlmari @cirr @Adam WANG SHANGHAI MEGA and the rest...

Going international is one task. But capturing a greater market share at home is another, and more important, task.

For this, China auto inc. needs to raise the standards even higher. Major China Inc. needs to move to mid-to-high end segments, leaving the lower segments to small potatoes.

It has already started but going slow, as I see it. For instance, Great Wall's WEY is shooting for high-end SUV segment. Their design is outstanding, and the EV luxury SUV is now priced at RMB300.000. That should be the price that brands like Geely, Changan, FAW etc. need to target.

Their advantage should not be only price, anymore. People have more money now. Sometimes, they want to spend on national brands, but just cannot find something to their taste because most brands still are fighting each other at lower ranges.

Nice post bro.
But I think they should base their strategy on Xiaomi. Good quality with reasonably priced product just so to gain the market leverage. Gradually the rest of the Chinese brand can come in and make the kill.
Like how Xiaomi killed Samsung in India. The first Chinese brand to top the Indian market.

Xiaomi is dependent on data, not hardware. There's no comparison with cars.

Chinese cars should be more like Huawei to take on the Indian market.

Expressway construction should be continue in line with private car ownership spike.
I think we need 300k km of controlled-access expressways at least.
So important to Chinese economy

length of expressway vs car sales in China.jpg

Also need more Yangtze River bridges, currently around 140 are definitely far from enough.

I don't know why you even quoted me. Is it because of attention?
Okay I shall entertain you. :)

I am into business, are you? I've studied the Indian market extensively. You ever heard of the phrase "Cheap and best" by your fellow Indians? Please be truthful.
This is exactly how Indians want their products to have the best quality but reasonably priced. This is the strategy. This is Indian mentality. German quality but Indian price.

Tell me I am wrong and I'll quit this thread.

Oh last but not the least. FUEL EFFICIENCY.

You're going on a tangent. I said nothing of quality.

I suggest you go further "into business" to understand how Xiaomi works.

Good day.

Actually their car prices are very very expensive and the features are poor... ESP is not heard of for most of them; even airbags are luxury for them...

No wonder their people can only afford little midget cars...

I am sure if Chinese cars are sold at the same price or even 30% higher than their prices here in China, they will be sold like hot cakes.
These cars (at least equipped with ABS and airbags ) can destroy all indian brand:
Chery Arrizo 5: MSRP $7,800; Add $1,000 you can have ESP (Electronic Stability Program) and some more features as well.

Karry K50: MSRP $7,000

But for high end market, cars like these are more suitable:

Fake news, they have very high PPP to buy cars.

Good day.
Never say goodbye.

Please enlighten all of us here as to how Xiaomi works.
We'll all be grateful to your inputs.

Too many car manufacturers in China. They need to be consolidated into 2-3 conglomerates and invest heavily in R&D.

It will, eventually. But, I think, China market can accommodate 5-6 major automakers. Even Japan has three major brands and the rest is not small either.

What is more important is to ensure brand identification. Each brand needs to represent something. Needs to have some strength. Perhaps one or two brands could be like an all-encompassing Toyota, but China also need strong brands with identity such as Mazda, Subaru and Mitsubishi.

Also, brands need their specific luxury lines, like Acura and Infiniti.

China market is big enough and getting stronger on terms of purchasing power. If China Inc. misses on it, it will be difficult to capture what the lost market share.

Data are from international sources given by the manufacturer...

BTW, I am wandering how many luxury cars are sold in india? Does it reach 10,000? Just wandering, don't fight me.:P

I found it for you, it is about 30,000 in a year, all added together... Impressive, Congratulations!
