What's new

By 2020, India will emerge ahead of China on several counts in economy

What do they expect as a tourist though? Skyscrapers?

In terms of city infrastructure, Shanghai is more advance than San Francisco and KL is more advance than Melbourne. A tourist may not be able to tell that SF and Melbourne has much higher income.

Many of them are working as professionals/white-collar jobs for Taiwanese companies in the mainland, and the mainland offers perks and benefits for many Taiwanese and HKers. They are not taking the average income in the mainland.

The Taiwanese government has banned mainland Chinese from working in Taiwan.

I said living standard. Not Skyscrapers. I said no desire to work in TW. If the gap exists, people would go there illegally. Even mainland women are not interested in marrying TW men.

. .
This is not the Mexican border where you can simply cross illegally. There's the Taiwan Strait.
Still there are many illegal SE Asian workers in TW. And back to 30 years, many mainland Chinese worked there illegally.
Now many TW graduates came to mainland to look for their first job.

And what kind of jobs are they taking, and are these jobs reflective of the average in the mainland? Many TW graduates are working in Taiwanese companies operating in SEA, including Vietnam. So what? Vietnam is now more advanced than Taiwan?

You have to look at the average instead of selectively looking at just one part of the society.

Otherwise you will jump into silly conclusions like Taiwan's wages are lower than Vietnam's, like what the Taiwanese media did:

Among the richest countries per capita are: Macau, Qatar, Singapore and Brunei. Neither of them can be considered Western-style democracy (none got rich by colonization)

And the US, UK, Germany and Japan, got rich through brutal, undemocratic methods, mostly by conquering and looting. And I believe you know how all newly industrialized countries got rich?

Even Japanese and Korean still moving to Canada. It can provide a relax, less competitive environment compared to Japan and Korea, let alone very highly-competitive China. But people who want to make money are coming to China (just watched some documentary about Shenzhen by Discovery. People from all over the world are moving there).

Macao - Gambling
Qatar - Gas
Singapore - actually a democracy

Look man, you will never convince people who have freedom and democracy to give it up.

It's like a guy with a bicycle trying to convince a guy with a Ferrari that the bicycle is better.

yep
I can give you first hand account of this.
There are areas of my city that are almost a fully Chinese colony and a Chinese person will never have to learn English if they never leave that area.

And let's not forget all the properties they are buying up.
It's because they have legal rights and the government can't one day decide to just take it away, unlike in their home country.

They majority are poor who couldn't get job with decent salary in their country (not only chinese).
Those who earn well wont be interested to immigrate to Australia/US/Canada.

Except some rich who flee from Hongkong in 97 due to fear of communism, or rich Chinese who can afford buying house in your country (but many of them are still living in China).

....I don't know if I should laugh or cry.

I live in Canada with a high Chinese population.
You are trying to convince me that what I am seeing with my own eyes is incorrect.

In Canada Chinese people are flooding the real estate market and buying homes for millions of dollars. The Huawei princess has 2 homes in Vancouver that are worth 10s of millions of dollars.

It is so common to see 18 year old Chinese kids driving around in super cars (and often crashing them) that the locals actually joke about it.

So please, knock it off with the fake news and accept reality from first hand accounts.

I understand what you mean. Modi is a Hindu supremacist with his connections to the RSS. But in India at least you can vote Modi out in elections. Whereas in China you can’t vote out the CCP. I don’t like India either, but they are the lesser of 2 evils. Communism is absolutely repulsive for me. I cannot support a Communist dictatorship that goes against all the values I hold. Xi and Modi are murderous despots.

You are an idiot Indian false flagger, why hiding, aren't u guys a supa powa?

You should cry as it seems you have reading comprehension problem.

I dont deny there are many chinese in Canada.

But as I've told you: Except some rich who flee from Hongkong in 97, or rich Chinese who can afford buying house in your country (but many of them are still living in China).

The rich chinese you see in Vancouver/Toronto are either from Hongkong, or rich Chinese who can afford buying house in Canada unless you are talking about Canadian borne chinese. Those are coming from developing countries but rich.

But that doesn't represent majority of Chinese. So it is totally WRONG for you to say: Chinese people would give anything to live in the West.

But that doesnt reprisent majority of Chinese.

and you have a patriotic education problem.
They are 100% Mandarin speaking mainland Chinese

You are sitting in an IT center in Beijing so how do you what kind of people I am personally encountering?

It seems the CCP trolls think anyone talking against them is an Indian

I’m sick of Chinese buying up all the property here too and making houses unaffordable. They don’t even buy houses to live, they buy to invest.

Then they are rich chinese that i've said. Learn to read sentence well.

Use your logic.. how come mediocre chinese afford super lux car unless they are sucessful.

You only see several rich chinese immigrant who speak mandarin, they can buy PR with their rich, eventhough they dont stay there permanently. The kids you see crashing their own lux car could be PR resident who visit Canada periodically for tour and maintain their PR while majority their life could be still in their country of origin :)

There are lot lot more poor chinese there (Canada, Australia, US) who went there for economic reason, they are usually illegal.

As I've told him they are rich ppl either from mainland china or other developing countries who diversify their assets overseas. Its economic law, the more chinese become very rich the more the buy assets overseas.

They not only buy property in Canada/Australia, but also Dubai or any other place that offer good neighborhood and have prospect.

Okay 50 cent man, you have earned your social credit for the day.
You have successfully argued what a local Canadian experiences while sitting in an IT center in Beijing.

They buy houses as a way of money laundering.
in CPC China, the one man in Beijing can take away all their money on a whim as there is no rule of Law there.
So smart Chinese people funnel their money out of the country to a place that has rule of law, as a way to save it from the CPC.

Downside is that it ruins the local's ability to buy and live in their own cities.
