Business activities have already slowed down considerably + if the business community starts going into strikes, there will be no money (in form of taxes) for govt to do Ayashi ----Good translation... loving this rona dhona by the business community now that their ayashi is ending.
Translation
Stop imposing tax on us.
Stop making us pay tax.
Let us smuggle and money launder unabaited.
Spend taxpayer money on our businesses to make us richer.
Fix the economy now!

Okay, do you know how much taxes traders pay and have you ever dealt with fbr employees?
Those traders who are in tax net are already paying sales tax 17%+3%+3%, why you say "stop imposing tax on us"
The fbr guys are HARAM-KHORS.
The rally on Tuesday would deliberate on available options to persuade the government to withdraw the sales tax and the condition of acquiring CNIC copy of unregistered buyers. “The options may include a shutter-down strike,” he said. Big markets of the city that will participate in the rally include Jodia Bazaar, Saddar electronics market, Tariq Road markets, main cloth market at Tower and Shershah scrap market.
This here is the issue. These guys have been enjoying a free ride for too long. These are tax thieves. Simple as that.
If PTI backs down from this demand, they loose my vote at least.
Don't know specifically about Mr Ghazi, but I do have an idea that most supporting govt policies are either from rich class, uni kids, lives on Abba G's money or don't have families to support.mr ghazi
wunder kid of PTi, has an accounting degree from oxford
lives abroad 6000 miles away in his cozy western life
lectures us about tax and industry layoffs
oh yes, mr ghazi has a solution, all these laid off workers should learn to code Python,,
convenient, innit
shame on you really
do not argue with mr software 'tester '
on another thread, he was telling me that all these laid off people should learn to 'code '
another delusional PTI kid....
see the arrogance and hubris of these PTI fanboys, they are cheering the closure of industry and imposition of draconian taxes !

I await Ghazi's response, on what basis he said that traders don't pay taxes --- All those traders who are importers pay taxes at the time of custom clearance -- let me break down the taxes:
1) custom duty
2) sales tax 17%
3) Additional sales tax 3%
4) Regulatory duty
5) income tax 6%
6) Additional custom duty
7) Punjab tax
8) another sales tax@3% on sales per month
@Bouncer
You can't get things done without bribe.sir, you cannot import a nut bolt in pakistan sans duty. there's one for the nut and one for the bolt.
( not to mention the bribes businesses have to pay, namely, to wapda, sui etc)

What facilities do you get in return?I have never been to Oxford, let alone got a degree from there. My only experience with tax is having paid it my whole life. Perhaps you could just appreciate for a moment that the only people with a problem against tax are members based in Pakistan not overseas Pakistanis.
I am not a rich man. I live a few of paychecks away from financial ruin. Yet I pay 33% on my income, 20% sales tax, an additional local tax, a fee to drive my car on the road, mandatory house and car insurance, an annual fee to own a TV, 60% of the price of my diesel is tax. My household energy bill is about 5% of my income, my diesel cost is about 10% of my income.
That's why I find it hilarious when millionaires complain about taxes. I find it confusing that those of you who aren't millionaires are even more concerned for them.
I won't presume to know your economic status, but I suspect you can afford to live your life, despite the increase in costs.
One thing more, sir, you cannot import a nut bolt in pakistan sans duty. there's one for the nut and one for the bolt.

Behaviour of some individuals should be recorded and reported ...It is not in the their training to ask and if they do take them down
My only experience with tax is having paid it my whole life.
Report them...you people pay bribe then cry we have to?!not some individuals, it's MOST --- even after custom clearance, importers have to bribe custom officers patrolling on roads --- you don't pay them you can't take your container, simple.
Stop paying them and take them to court!not some individuals, it's MOST --- even after custom clearance, importers have to bribe custom officers patrolling on roads --- you don't pay them you can't take your container, simple.
You need to know who is in charge that they are afraid of...request for their boss or something ...It is something every gora would do if wrongedI am quite surprised at your post, either you are too innocent or you are part of the system --- I leave it to you to answer who you are.
