Nothing is going to change..... because educated people in both sides try to put the responsibility on others. The smugglers in the border are not aliens. They are the common villegers in both sides who get involved in this business for some extra income. It is not only BD civilians are shot BSF, but many in Indian side too. However the kins of the victims are not going to admit their link with the smuggling.

Anyway BSF has to be high allert as the route of smuggling can be used by the terrorist organisations because of tighter arrangement in western border. And we should not bother what Canadaa is thinking. If people are attacked in India by the terrorists, Canada gvt does not come to stop that.

Now in your school of thoughts, cutting tendon could reduce the possibility of terror attack? Wake up, Maoist dont come from BD. Its your India producing the most terror in the whole world. A country creates terror by itself, just look at Pakistan, India, Srilanka, Nepal and look at us BD. We dont have a sealed border and you India tried 2 decades through Santi Bahini to drag us to your level but at the end you failed. Cutting tendon (if true) is cruel and the authority should investigate on it. But , shooting on the civilians, I blame more the Indian and BD government than BSF, for being aloof to the economic conditions of the people living in the border areas.

Leave out Pakistan here (that can be discussed in other thread) but do not claim that BD is free from terrorism. It is only the recent government taking some meaningful steps against the groups ......(like Bangla Bhai...etc..I cant remember the names)....

Civilians should respect international border....If someone get shot while crossing the border ,the responsibility is up on them to prove that he did not have any evil objective.....

If any personnel have crossed their authority and harmed any one (even smuggler) in a way that is not as per the rules of engagement, then they must be disciplined, no doubt. After all we want our security forces to be disciplined and under our control, and we have done a much much much better job of it than our neighbors.

Indians, don't get flamed by the use of words like humanity and civility, its just frustration. Their security forces are above the law, take over power, kill their leaders, carry out peelkhana massacres, they are bound to think that a 'hindu' nation like India will have the same. It's true that the short history of BD-MIL and its other security force's ones aren't that proud but that don't have any correlation with BSF's brutal killings of BDeshis as BDeshi forces don't reciprocate such action.

BTW, leaving rhetoric aside, you could've compared BDR's track record with them but nevertheless I thank you for saying some truth. One very important factor though that hardly comes up in Indian's equation when they justify BSF's shooting on smugglers, which is time demands them to dry up blood line among the inhabitants of border areas. Historically, people of Tetulia, Jessore, Rajshahi border- areas are connected with WB, same as Kasba, Akhaurian's are with Tripura/Agartala and Sylhet/Tamanillies are with Assamies. Smuggling is an open secret, infect some people have been making living out of it for generations. Indians were more beneficiaries than us for all along but why did BSF become selectively over aggressive against it in last few yrs, whilst they along with BDR walas were the facilitators of it in the past? Answer could be found on WB walas becoming more centric and populating WB with other ethinicites. As IND is marching on to be a global player, ethnic diversification of its states are happening and simultaneously the mere, pesky smuggler's utility are expiring. Hence the rough state ness of BSF by center is understandable.

I believe EVERY Indian wants BSF (and all our security forces) to be professional, responsible and accountable forces as its in our DIRECT INTEREST too.

However its words like 'medieval / inhuman / lacks civility' etc that have brought out angry responses from Indians. Particularly when such flames have come from countries where the bad apples in security establishment are probably more than in India.

Economic condition not going to stop smuggling as long as India and BD are not common economy. There will always remain a price disprity between the countries and there will be smuggling. Its not smuggling which BSF is after but were brainwashed that BD is slughtering your holy cows as well as taking over whole India and convert everybody down there. By looking at BSF's brutality any psychiatrist will come to this conclusion.

Both India and Pakistan are similar in nature when it comes to terror and governance. So PK is a good example.
In the last 7 years there were not a single incidence of terrorism in Bangladesh. Few of the Afhgan veteran did some idiocy and eventually hanged. Its not this government which took action.

Civilians are unruly in every corner of the world thats why they are called civilians. No its not the responsibility of the dead body to prove its innocence but its the responsibility of the law enforcing agency to prove him guilty.
Anybody crosses border must be produced before the court of law or hand them over to our police and we will put them behind the bar for at least 2 years and thats the law.

No our security forces are not above the law and above any criticism. Not a single person will defend any evil deed done by our security forces in any forum whatsoever. Thats why we are Bangladeshi and you are Indian.
