It was irresponsible which resulted in an accident which resulted in deaths. Not a planned murder.

India has the largest number of people dying on the Roads. How many times have you seen people going to jail for Murder in road accidents ? Do you know the percentage of truck drivers who drink and drive ?

Now that you concede Dawood is going to enjoy whatever, it was pointless of you to argue on that. So why not stay silent ?

Because it was not a planned murder, he is not going to the gallows or serving a life sentence.

So, your logic is because Indian justice system has been a laggard so far in dealing with crime, it should continue being so? For your info though, all those drivers who kill in drunken driving are sent to prison. Yes, even in India.

Actually the really ridiculous situation here is seen when you make that comparison. Salman Khan is facing how many years for an act that at best can be attributed to utter recklessness? 10? As opposed to 5 that Sanjay Dutt was sentenced to for an act of willful commission and being involved in one of India's biggest terrorist attack & hobnobbing with the very terrorists who remain India's most wanted?

I am not comparing the verdict , what I am comparing is the conviction. But I do agree Sanjay should be given more stringer punishement, but may be at the time of the crime he was too young and under emotional stress to not have clear thinking. While in the salman khan's case he was drank and drive with proper understanding of the consequences and possible chances of accidents.

So all these factors are something which courts take into account while delivering the verdicts.

Lol,I am a proud Sanatan Dharmic follower and hence will never accept any sort of Islamic Blood money concept in the Indian judiciary.All i am suggesting is that he didn't do it on purpose and hence sentencing him to 10 years in prison seems to be a harsh punishment after all he does take part in a lot of charities and has been helping many such organizations.So my personal opinion is to sentence him for a few thousand hours of community service plus putting the responsibities of the victim's family on his shoulder for the rest of his life.

Was referring generally when I said comparison but to the reference of Sanjay Dutt being young & under stress, he certainly was not younger than Kasab, was he? He got away because his dad literally begged everyone to help his son. It was no accident that he wasn't found guilty under TADA.

Ohh come on,he might have made a mistake but that doesn't mean that he has to spend 10 precious years of his life inside the prison.I think the judge should take into consideration the amount of money riding on Mr.Khan right at this moment.If he is sentenced to serve 10 years in prison,many Bollywood producers will definitely become bankrupt.I know that he made a mistake but he didn't do it on purpose plus he is a responsible citizen and contribute a sizable income of his to different charitable organizations,hence instead of this type of harsh punishment he should be sentenced to do a few thousand hours of community service!!

So you suggesting rich should be given less punishment compared to poor? Isnt it should be otherwise, the rich and mostly educated ones should be given harsher punishment a they are doing it with their complete knowledge of the law and knowing the repercussion of any wrong actions?

When are they going to announce the sentence? I think he'll get a 2 year jail sentence at the most.

But serves him right for ditching Aishwaria, Katrina and others who must be laughing all the way to the pub! It's celebration time for them!

In other words blood money is what you are suggesting when you say he should take responsibility of the victim's family. How is he going to do that? By giving them some money, right? Or is he going to adopt the family and take them to his home? To do what? Be servants in his house?

Your comparison of Sanjay Dutt with Kasab is outrageous. I am sorry but you are just responding for the sake of argument thats why you cannot see a difference between a person carrying illegal license gun and a person who under the influence of alcohol crushed a homeless person under his car and a person who cold blooded murdered more than 150 innocent lives.
