06:12 Contacts Jakarta center 125.70 at FL320, requests weather deviation left of M635 airway and climb to FL380
06:16 QZ8501 still observed on radar
06:17 Radar contact lost. Radio contact lost. Only ADS-B signal remained.
06:18 All contact lost. Only flight plan view on radar screen.
07:08 ATC declares INCERFA (aircraft position uncertain)
07:28 ATC declares ALERTFA (emergency alert)
07:55 ATC declares DETRESFA (emergency distress)

From Channel NewsAsia's Indonesia correspondent -
Pilot had asked to go up to 38,000 ft to avoid clouds that indicate bad weather in the area.
The fuel it carried would have run out because it had enough fuel for up to 4 hours and 30 mins of flight.
Indonesian authorities have asked information from other aircraft that were in the area.
Indonesian airforce has started search and rescue operations - heading to west of Java Sea where QZ8501 lost contact. They will be flying over the sea to detect any objects.
National rescue team have set off from various points in Indonesia.
