BoK scam: Clean Chit to be handed over to Finance Minister

Jamati amir for KPK announce that Finance Minister has been given the clean chit by the enquiry commission and the commission has instead held MD BoK as the culprit of abusing his authority. Jamat will push the coalition government to remove the MD.

Lets talk about what is this BoK Scam......Scam is not the correct terminology , a proper word would be scandal.

Scandal

So what is this scandal. The KPK Finance minister Muzaffar Saeed from JI stated publicly that he was not consulted when the bank crafted its voluntary separation scheme. In response The MD of bank put an advert claiming that the KPK Finance minister "has been pressuring management with illegal recruitment, profiting from inductions, using bank resources to arrange political functions and interference in the independence of the Board and other corporate matters”.

Government's Response

The CM Khattak ordered an investigation and to present the report of the investigation in the Assembly.

Opposition's Response

Opposition parties rejected the provincial government’s recommendation of presenting the report of the investigation in the Assembly and demanded that investigation of Khyber Bank be conducted by the Chief Justice (CJ).

This is my understanding of this issue, if you have any more information please feel free to share, but if thats all it is then this would be the least scandalous of all scandals in Pakistan.

The investigation report should be made public and if anyone found guilty of any wrong-doings should be punished.

Having some insight into BoK matters due to having colleagues in it, in reality the allegations were true. Whenever the JI has been in power in KPK, they have always poked their noses in the affairs of the bank. In previous MMA govt, they inducted lot of their guys. Whenever there would be a branch inauguration the minister sb would bring 200+ ppl with him and make it a political affair & the expense would have to be bore by the bank.

The bank is an independent organization and the minister has nothing to do with it. There is a BoG which has govt representatives and private shareholders representation & they are to look after the affairs of the bank.
